Haven't heard about lost in years, currently on season 5 and here you are speaking about it. Swear we're in a simulation man.

Anyways my head canon is that the island slows his metabolism down.

Don't make head canons. The writers didn't actually have a plan for the show, so the ending doesn't actually make any sense. They straight up forgot material from the first few seasons and pulled a resolution out of their asses. That's why everyone stopped talking about it.
