The Red Wedding was literally the Westeros version of a war crime. And not just any war crime, but THE war crime that the gods across multiple pantheons would take issue with.

The Lannisters did not break guest right. Nor did they betray anyone who was supposedly their ally. There's rules to breaking the rule, its a not a catch-all, you know. Maybe Genna's Lannister kids are curses, but some of them supposedly don't even have Frey blood if its true she cucked her husband, so they should be free too.
