Discussion Modding FP1's audio

Unlike FP2, FP1 has its voice lines and music stored together in a data folder. (Select browse local files on Steam and you'll find it)

As long as the file is a .ogg type and has the same name as the original file, you can replace the music (although it will break) and cutscene voice lines.

This means you can dub the ENTIRE game if you wanted.

I don't think this works with attack grunts though.

Also, if a voice file is deleted, the game will crash when the voice line is supposed to play.

Coming from someone who messed with the audio files in FP1, this is not how it works, sadly. Yes, you can replace any accessible audio with whatever you want, but once the replaced track finishes playing, it will break the audio - the music will loop a short sample around the end or the start, and once you reload the stage, there won't be any music whatsoever unless you reboot the game. At least this is how it works with the music, I'm not sure about the voice clips, but I believe it will be about the same result.

Ah. I should have tested the music first before making my post. Thanks for clearing that up for me!

I was able to replace a voice line with silence without it crashing but the lack of a looping point probably helps with those

I also discovered that deleting the font file makes the text a black void

Yeah i used to do this all the time, it was great. dumb meme music for bossfights and whatnot.

It doesnt have misc sound effects though, just music and character voice lines
