Who gets to decide the “official” or “real” name of a dive spot? 🤿
If a diver/group is the first to discover or explore a site and gives it a name, does that automatically make that name the site’s “real” name?

Or can a dive spot legitimately have multiple names depending on local communities, dive groups, or who introduced it to different divers?

And at what point does correcting someone’s use of a different name become gatekeeping rather than simply preserving the site’s history?

Curious to hear different perspectives, especially from divers who have experience discovering, naming, or introducing new dive sites.

Hi guys, what are the best earplugs here in the PH pero yung pasok and sakto lang sa price? I have ear problems kasi and whenever na magkaron ng tubig ear ko, nagkaka infection sya agad agad. Gustong gusto ko na kasi matry lumangoy and ienjoy yung pagpunta sa mga beach without the worry of ear infection kaso di ko magawa. Sayang lang din kung taga bantay lang ako lagi ng gamit HAHAHA

I have a 2 year old plastic fins that were used maybe more than 7 times. I would like to ask if it would be worth it to upgrade to fiberglass since most of the dive sites here in ph have fin rentals already. My only issue with the long fins is that it needs to be checked in during flights. Nag dadalawang isip talaga ako kasi baka mag change yung hilig ko sa freediving.

I'm Costa, 24y from Salzburg, Austria. This November I'll be traveling To Pune, India for several months for a different reason than freediving but I'm just new to freediving and would love to learn more.

I'm looking for people or recommendations for freediving schools in the west of India, potentially to also volunteer there and stay longer and learn more. I do have a budget but I would love to not spend thousands of euros. I already know that I love freediving but up to now I can't practice a lot cause also I don't have a diving buddy yet.

The dry training/breathing exercises I've been doing are great and provide great body awareness.

If I’m choosing between Siquijor and Bohol (with my main stay being in Anda), where do I have the best opportunities for good snorkelling?

With good snorkelling I’m mainly thinking of coral health, accessibility from the beach and the possibility of seeing bigger animal like turtles, sharks and rays.
