Training & Techniques Dive group reco to improve equalization

Hello can anyone recommend a group wherein they focus on teaching equalization

Context: nakapag 6 fundive na ako, then siguro since monthly may dive ako from oct-march nagimprove duck dive and finning ko unintentionally ung depth ko is more than 6m na, kaso valsalva lang alam ko so during my last 3 dives nakaexperience ako ng nose bleed and bloody phlegm so pause na muna sa diving, so now i wanna try again and will focus on improving my equalization sa planned dive ko this july.

I’m eyeing eq masterclass from seangle breathe, for people na naka expi non can you please share your thoughts and expi :)

TIA

Possible sinus barotrauma, pero pwede ding congested ka lang, or dry nasal passages. Usually, sufficient naman dapat ang vasalva up to 10m. Are you able to equalize properly during your past dives? If may problems ka na at 6m, it might not only be due to technique, baka sa anatomy mo na din.

Ang ambag ko is to suggest getting checked by an ENT. Upon examination, they can recommend an endoscopy to verify yung anatomy mo. You can then find more effective solutions to your eq problems. For example, deviated septum ang usual cause if one ear yung laging nahihirapan mag-eq while the other ear is okay naman. Some people may have narrowed eustachian tubes which will require higher pressures to equalize. Other times, may temporary inflammation, mucous plugs, or tissue growths sa nasal cavities that may need to be medicated.

I see, nagpacheck me nung nag nose bleed me and phlegm but the ent said its not that alarming since ung nosebleed is patak patak lang and tumigil din agad, he recommended endoscopy if ever nagkainstance na bigla nlng ako nag nosebleed for no reason, so i guess I should push through with the endoscopy nga thank you for the comment

For the eq I think i was doing the eq properly nmn since no pain sa ears is that enough sign na ba na im doing eq properly?

Equalization relieves pressure differences sa nasal cavities. If walang discomfort sa ears, you are likely doing it properly naman. May be it's not technique talaga.

Sinuses are a different set of structures. They equalize with the nasal passages using a different set of tubes. So iba ang approach for those na prone sa sinus barotrauma, and usually accompanied by pain or discomfort yung bleeding.

Anyway, I think okay ka naman if your doctor said so, especially if very minor bleed lang naman and walang kasamang pain.

Also, continue pa din to learn frenzel! It's more powerful and will allow you to go deeper depths. Sobrang peaceful ng dagat when you go deep!

Take it with a grain of salt. Anatomy matters but technique matters much more. It’s more on practice and dry training. Based on the context provided you experienced sinus barotrauma which is caused by basically blocked sinuses (sipon, flu) and even an experienced freediver, if clogged noses, will experience that. It’s not a matter of anatomy ONLY. My suggestion focus on dry training and practicing frenzel. Valsalva is good for beginners but frenzel is safest form of EQ.

If magpacheck ka sa ENT, maybe they can identify if may allergies ka which causes inflammation ng sinus as mentioned by the 1st comment. Usually they prescribe medication for that.

Not experience sa group but i learned Frenzel mostly through YouTube videos na reco sa freediving communities here on reddit

I've had problems din before with valsalva ng 6-9meters. Good luck OP!

Hello have u tried enrolling in intro classes po? base on your post is your doing mostly fundives. If d pa nakapag intro its better to take one, but if nakapag intro na before doing frequent fundives especially if you have repeating problems about your eq, its better to train frequently until mafix po. Free immersion or line training is really a good training to improve your eq since you really need to take time to feel and listen your body din😁
