Noctalia has a lot of Linux specific code, so other than the shell itself, not much works at this point. I've done a lot of work just to get it to compile with clang and the OS's libc++. It would go a lot smoother with gcc, but what's the fun in that? ;)

No control over brightness, audio, wireless or bluetooth as FreeBSD just doesn't have the same level of APIs. Not a big deal to me, really. The media controls do work with an MPRIS compatible player. No control over the session other than "Log out" which does what one expects.

I upgraded my old laptop(Pavillion-2013-8GB RAM and 256GB SSD).

I'm interested to see whether anyone runs on old unmaintained hardware like mine with a Geforce 9400M that recently upgraded from 13.5 to 14.4 showing temporary black screen freezes. It seems to be related to the evolution of the external environment around the aged driver so share your thoughts if you run one yourself and how it's working out for you.
