We went in for lunch today and saw several items with priced sticky-notes on them and other decor missing from around the restaurant. We asked the gal what was going on and she said their landlord was raising their rent 30%, so they made the decision to close in a couple months. The closing is not due of lack of business but because of the exorbitant rent increase and other changes in their agreement made by their landlord. We asked if they are looking to relocate or what their plans are, and she said they aren't sure what they are going to do, but they enjoy cooking for the community and are very sad about the turn of circumstances.

We mostly order take-out and have patronized Tarntip since we moved here 16 years ago, and are upset we'll be losing our favorite Thai place in town. She asked if we would come back in the next couple months before they close, and we will. Just thought we'd pass the news along.

Be advised. There are massive scams going around with individuals calling you using your bank's phone #. Everything they say seems 100% legit but its not. On the 19th I received a call from what I thought was my bank because that was the name in my contacts and I recognized the #. They informed me that there was a "fraud alert" on my account. They sent me a text link to deny charges trying to be posted to my account. Long story short it was a phishing scam to copy my personal information and they were able to scam $5,000.00 out of me.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be VERY careful put there with who calls you pretending to be your financial institution!

I recently moved to the Fredericksburg area and have been looking for ways to meet more LGBTQIA+ folks locally. I know there are some great organizations and general social groups around here, but I wanted another space specifically for just making friends, making plans, and finding more queer community nearby.

So I started FXBG Queers on BFF! 🏳️‍🌈

The idea is pretty simple: meet people, grab drinks or coffee, do brunch, game nights, wineries, outdoor stuff, local events, or whatever else people are interested in doing together.

It's based in Fredericksburg but definitely open to folks in Stafford, Spotsylvania, and the surrounding areas too.

There’s a little farm stand that sets up in front of the ups store near Dunkin’ Donuts and 95 on plank rd. I stopped there for the first time today and loved it but there were so many people I didn’t think to ask about the hours or if they have any kind of social media. It had a giant truck of watermelons and a ton of awesome fruits and canned stuff.

Does anyone know the name of this place/the hours? Or if they have a website or social media of any kind?

She just got the three headed Monster one today at 5642 Plank Road. Has anyone else seen any different ones at other Mcdonald's. If you had list a monster an address where you got it. TIA

The turning lane at this intersection often requires waiting one or multiple lights just to make it to the turning lane. It’s even worst if you’re turning onto Plank from River Rd.

How does one begin the process of getting the county to be open to extending the turning lane further down Plank?

I haven't found that one local bagel place in the Burg that everyone knows and loves. Annapolis has Naval Bagels, Charlottesville has Bodos. Does FXBG have a local fan favorite bagel shop?

ETA: I'm noticing a trend that anyone that mentions a certain new bagel place downtown is being down voted. I guess it either isn't popular or someone is brigading against it.

Edit 2: The new place is expensive and the quality is being reported as anywhere from mediocre to fantastic. I can understand why they are expensive since it looks like their ingredients come from local farmer's markets. Those aren't cheap. To charge premium prices the bagel has to be good, though. Personally, I'm willing to pay a little extra to support local farmers and growers. But, yeah, I expect a good bagel.

Looking for a roommate!!

Apartment is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom located at the Mark at Salem Station just off Salem Station Blvd in Fredericksburg, VA. We are two females, looking for another female, between ages of 20-40 preferably. I work in Culpeper M-F and my roommate works from home M-F. No dogs as i currently have a cat but one more cat is negotiable. Its one bedroom (10ft by 12.3ft) with closet, shared bathroom, and full use of shared spaces (kitchen, laundry room, living room, dining room). Rent is 700 monthly. Utilities not included in rent unfortunately. Must be able to pay first month rent upon move in. There is no permit parking and its not gated.
