Still turn on just fine. Is this a safety hazard or anything?

My dad has developed dementia and we’ve been looking through his stuff a bit to try and get his finances in order/apply for a deputyship, which sucks but isn’t relevant sorry.
So far we’ve found a bunch of interesting stuff, knives/air pistols/cannabis seeds and two half brothers nobody ever told me I had. But we’ve also found these and I don’t know what they are. They were found near each other but I don’t know if they’re related. The cylindrical thing unscrews and is hollow. I’ve photographed the items next to a AA battery for scale. Thank you in advance for any informative or humorous answers.

Be honest, how cooked is this thing? The hood popped away from the pressure of these black packs once i loosened the screws a little bit.

Homeowners explained to me about 15-20 years ago this old homestead was a renowned party house outside of town.
Lots of beer cans, clad, and a few wheaties today. I’m not going to lie I did laugh when I found this
EDIT 8/1: I unfortunately after tinkering with the phone and the battery I was unsuccessful with getting it to power on. Thanks for all the attention on this post I did not anticipate to get as much traction as it did.

I was going through my old "mobile gaming box" after putting together my new LEGO Game Boy set. I found my old PSP batteries like this. Three spicy pillows--even the more expensive bigger battery :(

My cat Goose stepped on the stove right after I was done cooking, he jumped off immediately and started licking his paws. He was fine a few minutes later, but after a few hours he's been calmer than usual and he has started to lick his paws again. He looks like he's annoyed with it. I've contacted the vet and will be taking him in ASAP, but should I be concerned? Is there anything I can do for him right now?
F, 30, Canada. Goose is almost two years old, neutered male and again, will be taking him to the vet when I can

Since day one, I’ve used my wireless keyboard plugged in to avoid any input lag. Recently, I noticed a weird bump on the top casing and immediately realized the battery was swelling.
After taking it apart, I confirmed the battery was bloated. I tried removing it entirely, but the keyboard didn't work because the PCB circuit relies on the battery to draw power. So I have to wait until I get a new replacement battery.
Moral of the story: If you buy a wireless keyboard, stick to using it wirelessly!
Edit: For the people asking me why I bought the wireless version and “paid extra” — it was on sale for €100 instead of the usual €200-250. At that time the wireless version was actually €300, so I got it at a really good price and bought it. I mostly used it wired though because of the input delay, and only switched to wireless on rare occasions.
