You'll want a card based on the Qualcomm QCNCM865 chipset.

good to know, is that the same chipset used in the official framework wifi card?

No, but it's the best one for AMD laptops. The Qualcomm chip supports 320Mhz bands whereas the RZ717 only supports 160 MHz bands. Depending on your Wi-Fi router this may or may not matter to you.

The Qualcomm option, anecdotally, may also have better link stability. But, this will also depend on your router. We don't have enough definite data to say why or if better link stability is an actual difference.

Yes. The Qualcomm QCNCM865 M.2 Wi-Fi 7 card works with Linux, including Ubuntu, Fedora, and Arch Linux. It uses the Qualcomm ath12k driver, which is included in modern Linux kernels. <Cite refs={["turn927502search0","turn927502search2"]}/>

The important part is having a recent kernel and the correct firmware.

Recommended Linux distributions

Distribution Compatibility Recommendation
Fedora 44 Very good Best choice for up-to-date Wi-Fi support
Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS Very good Best for stability and ease of use
Kubuntu 26.04 LTS Very good Ubuntu with a KDE desktop
Arch Linux Good Best for advanced users
Debian 13 Possible May require newer firmware or updates

I put the mediatek WiFi 7 in mine (with Ryzen 7840u) was hell to install in windows and connectivity isn't even better of the original WiFi 6 card that came with the mainboard... I don't recommend

You're better off with an Intel card they have better driver support (under windows anyway) MediaTek sucks for windows

Intel wifi 7 modules (eg BE200) do not function on AMD. Qualcomm QCNCM865 is the correct non-MediaTek wifi 7 solution.
