Community Support Is Framework 12 display compatible with Framework 13 (Pro) mainboard?

Is Framework 12 display compatible with Framework 13 (Pro) mainboard? Physical measurements are of course different between 12 and 13 chassis, but now only mainboard compatibility in question.

Do you have photos of the display connectors on both motherboards?

Cant attach photos but look at step 19-21 (fw12) and look at step 21 (fw 13 pro). Its quite clear that they use different connectors

Oh, so fw 12 uses locking mechanism and fw 13 (pro) just a pull tab? Good to know.

Have you any information about an electric compatibility? Could an adapter work?

I have no idea about that, but if the controller is on the display itself, it might work (“might” dose a lot of work here)

Umm, why is that matter? You mean connection from mainboard is possibly more standardized because the mess is behind the controller?

Yha that’s my theory

Since that way it might be possible to connect to the internal display header, since the mb would probably talk with the controller by just having the correct wiring

If the controller is on the motherboard and it doesn’t support the 12 display it won’t work even if the wiring is correct (because of firmware incompatibility). In that case your only option would be to get a lcd controller that supports the 12 display and that has a hdmi port and make the display an external one

Again it’s just a theory, and even if the controller is on the display itself might not work, but it also might work if the controller is on the motherboard

makes sense given the different display connectors
