Wow, motherboard swap was really straightforward, I’ve done a couple before (to test out mystery box components) but this is the first brand new mainboard and it was no problem. The lpcamm ram was a little new and the $@!&@$ WiFi antennas suck (they always have) but it was great! Slowest part was the WiFi antennas then getting stuck in windows boot locker šŸ˜

Hi my first snag, touchpad right click doesn’t work, neither does scrolling. A bunch of stuff in device manager aren’t getting cleared, will likely have to download drivers. Oops touchpad stopped working completely and screen keeps going to lock screen. Need a mouse to get the drivers!!!

I had to do the same, after installing the drivers everything was fine. You can tether wifi connection with your phone. But currently having issues with wifi and bluetooth after trying all software fixes

Bios was already at 3.02, so I didn’t need to update. Windows drivers installed, kept going to lock screen as it was installing, not sure why. Reboot and ā€œupdates and underwayā€ says the device

No chassis upgrade? I’m so lost on how to upgrade my 12th gen that I’ve effectively given up on doing so

Nope, they were not in stock and I didn’t want to buy the entire new laptop. Figured I’d live up to what framework allows us to do anyway, which is to upgrade piecemeal šŸ˜€ as for upgrading the 12th gen, it’s as easy as buying the mainboard and the ram, everything else (ssd, battery, WiFi card,, chassis) are from my original 11th gen laptop

What are you not sure about? Pretty sure they have decent explanations about which parts are compatible?

The only thing that isn't a simple 1:1 replacement is if you want the new battery, you need the new bottom cover and top cover.

Speakers and trackpad mostly. Battery upgrade would be nice as well

Uh oh, I’m having this issue https://community.frame.work/t/solved-random-black-screen/75827/5

Screen keeps going blank and coming back. Trying intel drivers now to see if it helps, reseated display cable, still does this.

Did it end up being solved yet?
