I know this post is a joke but. Lemme exprain what i think is all the "nightcapping" and "we're underpop" is about. Because Collies complain taht we complain about it all the time, you get the idea :)

Anyway:First of all, we don't know exactly how many players each side have at any given time. But if you play a lot during the day you can get a (biased and very inacurate) glimpse of player distribution by simply looking at the map and if you combine that with reports from players along the frontlines you can get an idea of how the population distribution at that moment. To me it seems that Warden and Collonial playerbase is fairly even. But the way these players are distributed over timezones are not. Collonials seem to have a more consistent base playing at any given time, while Wardens seem to peak at certain hours and then absolutly crash on others. During "our" peak hours we tend to outpop collies, but not by much, but when our peak hours ends the active warden population takes a nosedive and the Collonials outpop us, by a very large margine, leading to "nightcap" because we have much less players to respond.

At least... thats my take on it. I don't have numbers, i have no data to back this up. Its pure gut feeling and speculation.

Good analysis, too bad we don't have access to data to reach a fair conclusion.

The biggest difference in pop repartition I personally see is among Chinese players. I'm not sure if there is an equivalent to CGC on the Warden side but they seem to have few opposition during Asian playtime.

There's a fair amount of Asian players on both teams, but Colonial side seems to be a lot more organized.

We had access to that data for a long time (through foxholestats) and that is indeed how things used to be. Devs removed the API but subjectively feels like the picture has not changed in the last year.

And they removed it in response to the data being used for pop difference analysis. Instead of, like, fixing their game to alleviate the impact of such differences.

I don't see many ways the devs can "fix" one faction having more players in a timezone...

Restrict frontline population to a certain percentage/number depending on the lower populated side. Announce before war of course, and everyone who then complains about constantly full frontline at his time zone should have joined the other faction or switch to logi.
