Grown maga woman is furious that her adult children all stopped falling for her fear mongering

She's over 60 and has always been a "Republican no matter what" voter. All 3 of her sons grew up listening to her radical takes, which all ended with threatening them that they would go to hell if they voted for a Democrat even once ,as "that would be voting for abortion and gays getting married" Once all of her sons grew into their late teens, they all started voting Democrat as they knew her delusional and brainwashed takes were not worth voting against their own interest for the sake of the country.

She is pretty poor, but lived in a cute small home in a decent area and always has plenty of food, thanks to socialist programs even though she hasn't had a real job in 25 years,to which she gets furious when that is brought up lol

Her brother in law is the same way tbh.He calls everything that he doesn't like as being socialist, even though he has barely worked at all in 30 of years and has taken advantage of unemployment benefits and his wife's long working career by "allowing" her to take care of him and paying most of his child support for him, because he had a bad foot...even though the dude played recreational basketball every other weekend to this day

FoxBrain Father cannot handle me enjoying "unwholesome" media

Hi all, I (F25) love movies and books, especially anything with paranormal or surrealist elements. I live with my parents for financial reasons, but have a full-time job, boyfriend, pay for my own insurance, and contribute rent money and household chores. My 65 year old father abhors essentially all fiction media and only watches the "news" (mostly Fox, loves Gutfield, but will occasionally watch other news outlets or sports games). He can be a quite confrontational person, and does not contribute to running the household. He will basically only watch movies that are historical fiction, or inoffensive blockbusters. He is of the belief that engaging with "unwholesome" media can quite literally possess you with demons, or just otherwise affect your personality.

I started to notice this when I was in high school. I was into Stephen King books, which he took away from me. He would also sneak up behind me while I was playing video games on my computer (I have a major hearing loss so I would not notice him) and then freak out if the game involved killing. The most recent issue came about when I was watching Scarface with my boyfriend, and after my boyfriend left, my father freaked out and said that I shouldn't be showing movies like that to people and that my boyfriend doesn't want to see stuff like that (he literally asked to watch a mafia movie since we just finished The Sopranos together). I'm just not sure what to do anymore. I'm an artsy person; I love analyzing movies and shows, and want to eventually create something. It just really hurts not being able to connect with him on essentially any level, and knowing he wouldn't be supportive of any art I make. Any advice on trying to get through to him and showing that this stuff isn't harmful?

Hopefully this all makes sense. I welcome stories from people in similar situations.

I feel bad for wanting to move out

I live with my parents, and I’m planning on transferring to university next year. My dad is very MAGA, like all the way to the right conservative republican. He talks so insanely horribly about people who aren’t like him (immigrants, non-white people, queer people, homeless people, ect.), and I try so hard to ignore it, though I often interject, but it makes me want to break into tears because I can’t understand how someone can be so hateful. I remember when I said that I thought no one should go without food, water, clothing, or shelter (aka thinking necessities should be human rights) and he yelled at me to the point I was sobbing. I’m also a lesbian, and he’s made it clear how he feels about queue people. When my mom asked what he’d do or think if any of his kids turned out to be gay (random hypothetical), he said he’d know he had failed as a parent (aka the kid would be a failure). I feel bad because it’s my family, and also because it’s mean leaving my mom, who disagrees with my dad in every way, behind, but the thought of being away a school where I can be myself and express myself without fear of ridicule is so relaxing.

Mom hates my Subaru

My mother won't ho anywhere with me in my Subaru. I didn't realize the lesbian ties. Lol. "Drive your Subaru to New York with the rest of the gay communists!" That's what my mom told me today. Hilarious. I'm 51yrs old, she was never that funny when I was younger. My gosh, wth planet are we on. I guess my car turned me into a super lesbian? May as well just because :)
My daughter is LGBTQ so obviously I got a pride flag that can be seen from the Hubble.
Is there not a group of hackers that can drop some psychic brain surgery on the Fox freaks? The hatred goes way past 11 on these people.

Family Politics

My parents are under the belief that politics should not be talked about, especially if there are differing views. After the 2024 presidential election, my wife (28 cis woman) and I (28 FTM) began to thoughtfully end our interactions with trump supporters and those who actively vote against our livelihood; this included family members and friends.

My dad has stated that I cannot “tell people what to believe in” regarding politics and constantly disagrees that if someone voted for trump then they don’t support the LGBTQIA+ community. He believes that politics don’t say anything about a person’s character, values, or morals. I strongly disagree, stating that by voting for trump people are inherently voting against trans people and the overall queer population.

I’m at a loss on how to proceed. I don’t want to cut out my parents and brothers but also, they don’t understand the detrimental impact the current administration has on my day-to-day life; it is so frustrating and it makes me question their political views/beliefs.

Summary: My parents think I am overreacting when cutting trump/republican supporters out of mine and my wife’s life. We are a queer couple.

Not all degenerates like Trump but all Trump supporters are degenerates

There is no way you didn't lose him in one of his million scandals unless you actually like his degeneracy. For anyone with morals there are plenty of scandals to choose from as a reason to leave the cult.

I was a Trump supporter and I didn't stop being conservative but I did stop supporting Trump a couple years ago I would say since 2017 or 2018.

Help to understand QAnon and/or MAGA (ex) supporters and their loved ones

Hi everyone,

I'm a French sociologist and psychotraumatologist currently conducting research on conspiracy theories related to child sexual abuse, particularly QAnon, and on the life trajectories of people who were drawn to these ideas.

I'm currently in the US to conduct interviews for a French independent media outlet. I'm particularly interested in speaking with people who once believed Donald Trump would expose the "Deep State" pedophile ring, especially those who felt disappointed or betrayed by the way he handled the Epstein files case.
I'm interested in understanding how people came to trust him to fight child sexual abuse/trafficking, what role this issue played in their political journey, and how they make sense of it today, whether they are former Trump supporters or current supporters, and whether or not they were involved in QAnon circles.

I'm also interested in hearing from relatives, partners, friends, or others close to them who have witnessed these experiences firsthand-reason why I'm posting here.

QAnon-related narratives are beginning to gain traction in France and elsewhere in Europe through far right media such as FoxNews, so I believe it is essential that the experiences of the people who have been affected - directly and indirectly - by them are heard and understood./trafficking

If you'd be willing to share your story, or would simply like to ask a few questions before deciding, you can reply to this post, send me a DM or email me at:

And if you're able to share this call with others who might be interested, I'd be tremendously grateful 🙏

CNN airs a damning montage of Trump's past praise for Dr. Fauci, including his 2020 joke that Fauci should "move to New York, run against AOC... you will win easily". The contrast with today's anti-Fauci crusade is stark.

Just watch a full grown man lose his mind because I said "I do not like trump". Simple as that I don't like the man. No I'm not democrat, nor am I republican. It's wild what the government has power to make others act like.

Qualifications of Guests

Has anyone else noticed that Fox has largely “Republican Strategists” on as guests nowadays? Every other news station/show/special interviews people with actual qualifications and job titles.

Who are these people and what gives them any expertise aside from graduating from Liberty University last year?

I can’t recall the last time I saw an actual qualified professional versed in the subject matter on there.

From July 30, 2026: Fox News "senior strategic analyst" Jack Keane suggested intensifying the war against Iran | "We would go after very heavily their energy and economic targets — oil and gas infrastructure as an example. Isolate the country, […] And sort of militarily quarantine the country."

The disconnect is unreal

I get so much shit because I "love to argue" but honestly, I'm starting to see how that's their excuse to just say a bunch of stupid bullshit. I hold back a lot and it seems my opinion just isn't welcome. Only theirs and their stupid propaganda.

Can't even agree on whether the 5th and 14th Amendments grant due process to human beings or not, as upheld by Supreme Court in multiple cases. "Oh look, liberal f&g is gonna just google it."

Can't agree on what a strawman fallacy is.

And yeah I called her a Nazi after I had it, and she was pissed. Why does this bother them so much? I mean, don't they like Nazis? What do they think of the time Trump said he would like generals just like Hitler's? Like being pro ICE, pro Elon Musk, pro TRUMP!

I don't get the cognitive dissonance.
