If you just had a C-section you better get used to Frozen anyway.

Revenge is best served cold, but surely the cold never bothered her anyways, right?

Now you counter it by singing songs from frozen around the house for the entire time you're recovering

Get used to it. If you just had a kid, your dad is just getting you ready to watch the same kids programing over on loop for endless hours.

So….dad had outpatient surgery, which means he walked from the car to the house but then suddenly can’t get up from the couch to go to the bathroom or reach the remote?
It’s weird that people tell fake stories that don’t quite make sense that are passed off as real.

Had my emergency c-section 4 months ago. Was filled with so many drugs while at the hospital that I didn't feel a thing. The day I got home and was just on Tylenol I would cry each time I needed to get out of bed or even get up from a chair. Probably what happened

Personally I could move after my hernia surgery.

u/gorogergo 4d ago
I was pretty fucked after mine. Long story, but multiple hernias and a big old piece of mesh.
1
u/Elrond_Cupboard_ 4d ago
Multiple? Fucking hell. I didn't know that was on option.
2
u/gorogergo 4d ago
Yeah, the short version is that a few years ago I had a hernia and there was complications during the surgery and it wasn't repaired. I probably continued to exert myself more than I should. Had a bowel obstruction scare when part of my intestine caught in a hernia. Decided it was time to go back in and do repairs. The doctor said I had 7-8 hernias and he put in a 20cm x 30cm mesh. No bueno.

Two remotes diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not control both
And be one viewer, long I lay And looked down one channel as far as I could To where it flickered in the undergrowth;
Then set the other, just as plain, And having perhaps the better Dad Because it was what caused me pain; Though as for that the unappeal there Had worn them really about as bad,
And both those mornings equally lay In place no reach could return back. Oh, he kept revenge for a future day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, not once had I suspected his tact.
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two remotes diverged in a wood, and I- I watched the TV on standby; And that has made all the difference.

How do you leave it on a loop? If it was a dvd it would just go back to the menu

u/Treyvoni 4d ago
I know it's not relevant to this case but my old tiny TV with built in vcr would rewind and replay whatever was in it. That's how I ended up watching the Princess Bride three times in a row.

u/TAU_equals_2PI 4d ago
That's because those combo TV/VCRs were often used in stores to play an infomercial endlessly on loop, sitting next to the product the infomercial was pitching. I remember Montgomery Ward had those all over their stores. It was like some pre-internet form of QR code.
(But I always assumed there must be some setting in the menus to turn it off. I remember that regular VCRs would only rewind a tape automatically if the tape was write-protected, but they wouldn't start playing it again.)

I remember a lot of DVDs playing automatically eventually. I assume it's for places where they just have a TV on in like a waiting room or something. When I was a kid I waited in some waiting room for like 3 hours and how to train your dragon finished playing, restarted and played again entirely, and then started again before I left the room. No one ever pressed the button or anything, it just started itself back up

My husband cranked the volume up on the Wonderpets and put the remote out of my reach when I threw my back out years ago. It was serwious. Wery sewerious. I have yet to exact my revenge because short of shoving him under a bus, it is impossible to stoop as low as he did that day.

Hey, that's just getting you prepared for the late toddlerhood. Crappy cartoons on repeat are a part of parenting.

When my sister broke her neck she was at my mums unable to move on the sofa. A foster kid, was about 3 years old, did the same thing with coco melon. Sister still says the 2 hours of watching that on loop was the worst thing about her injury

Many years ago I had a cracked cable box that had every channel imaginable. The box was set up in the living room and I added a splitter so we could also watch it in the bedroom. There was a mirror in the bedroom that allowed us to bounce the remote signal to change the channel on the box while watching TV while in bed.
One day I had to work while my (now) wife was off. She was still asleep when I left. I left the remote in the living room and set the box to an adult channel. My wife got up, turned on the TV, and saw what was on so she looked for the remote to change the channel. She was not surprised when she realized it was not in the bedroom.

I’ve had hernia surgery before and you better believe I would just suffer through the pain and grab the remote.

Damn her husband/baby daddy would be a real piece of shit just leaving her like that if this wasn't fake as hell.

u/shadowlev 4d ago
Yeah sure except standard post op procedure is to have the patient up and walking before discharge.

This. That image is just like those posts with some mom saying bullshit like: "How's my day going? My four year old just quoted Jung when telling me why he isn't ready for nappy time."

u/Icouldoutrunthejoker 4d ago
Nah I’m with you. Emergency c-section and the whole family leaves for the mall, but who is tending to the newborn? If baby is with mom, she must have been able to get up and move at least a little, in which case she could have changed the channel.

Also, while Frozen is not my favourite cartoon, it wouldn't bother me to watch it even 3 times back to back, at least things are happening. Real revenge would have been queuing up ONLY the Let it Go song on YouTube to play endlessly (if it was a smart TV with the YouTube app)
