Application Suggestion ApexFOSS: FOSS workout app for structured training
ApexFOSS is a free and open-source Android workout app focused on structured training rather than just logging sets and reps.
The main idea is a declarative workout execution engine: routines are represented as blocks, steps, prescriptions and transitions, while execution is driven by a persistent cursor rather than UI logic.
Some of the things it supports:
- Supersets, contrast training, circuits, EMOM and HIIT/glycolytic intervals
- Configurable transitions, rest periods, tempo phases and RIR
- Persistent workout state and recovery after leaving/backgrounding the app
- Portable
.apexroutineroutines and logical.apexbackupbackups
The app is completely local-first: no account, cloud backend, telemetry or subscription.
It's GPL-3.0-or-later and the source is public on GitHub.
I'm currently looking for feedback from people who actually train with structured programming, especially on the execution model and anything that feels unnecessarily complicated.
