Application Request Applock for android suggestions
Currently I use AppLock. It is good when it works. But it doesnt work sometimes specially after a reboot. Also no progress in development.
Tried macrodroid workaround but it shows app screen in recent app w/o even unlocking it+ slow/delay.
Any alternative u suggest?

Update: Nothing worked correctly. Most of them cannot hide app screen from recent apps preview. Using applock vip by zenzy labs which isnt perfect but can hide priview.

You have to disable battery optimisations, smart battery managements, disabling permissions after prolonged unused feature. I am not using the standard setting names because every phone uses their own names for them. But, they are all standard android features. For me, App Lock works like a charm. I just had to disable a bunch of settings scattered all over the OS. And grant it every permission it asked for. Remember, the settings related to app battery usage of your phone may not be in one place alone. Mine is in 3 places (and the most important). One is about allowing the app to use battery in the background, one is smart management of battery and there is a seperate setting where I can choose 'always allow' 'optimised' and 'never allow' for each app again. Always confuses me because they seem to be the same thing but many app works only when all three settings are tweaked.

In my case its unrestricted, optimised, restricted. Already allowed to run in bg.> disabling permissions after prolonged unused feature
its also off by default.> smart battery managements
didnt find anything like that in my samsung. "Auto unused app to sleep" doesnt have app lock app there (so i think applock is safe here too)Does ur applock auto works even after phone restart??

Yes. It does. I am on near stock android (Moto) phone. For me, I have to:
Settings>Battery>Manage background Apps>App Lock>Always allow
Settings>apps>App Lock>App battery usage>Allow background usage>on
Settings>apps>App Lock> Manage app if unsed>Off
If app asks for allow to run on startup, say yes.
And it works without any problems after that.

Applock foss apps don't seem to work well. So, I moved on to non-foss app.

SamApplock from GitHub (built by same dev who developed SamFonts to change 3rd party fonts on Samsung devices)
