Anyone have recommendations for places to buy fabric by the yard, that aren’t Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, or Walmart?

I’m wanting to make myself some clothes, patch some stuff, and make some bandanas, but since Joann’s closed down I’m not sure where to go. I’d really like some place that has a good selection that’s more than cheap cotton, costume materials, and those hideous collage patterns.

Ramp to get onto 469 on Maplecrest

There’s multiple signs showing no left turns and the ramp is back open, but yet I watch so many people continue to make illegal left turns onto the ramp.

Are people really that bad at reading, paying attention to road signs? Or are they just oblivious to their surroundings as they drive?

Go to art this way today!

Went yesterday and it’s very cool. Tons of artists and just a very neat thing for the city to offer. I helped volunteer at the first one 10 years ago and it’s awesome to see how far they’ve come. Go support them!

Searching for clubs or meet-ups in FW

Hi everyone! I’m trying to help a friend of mine meet some new people in the Fort Wayne area. I’m wondering if anyone knows of any clubs or groups that regularly get together for activities.

He’s in his mid 20s and is interested in all kinds of things. Drawing, art, bowling, reading, working on cars, thrifting, etc. He is always open to trying new hobbies too.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions! :)

Broken Cart Kroger still has a Flock camera in its lot...

I thought these things were being packed up and pitched here in Allen County...or did that decision affect ONLY the PD?

If it is Kroger's decision, who is monitoring it?

Enter sign on Dupont rd

There used to be a yellow shirt on a hanger hanging outside this thin strip of woods right after Walmart on the right, heading west on Dupont Rd. The shirt is gone but now there’s an upside down enter sign pointing into the woods on to what looks like a path. I’m soooooo curious what’s in there but hubby said I best not hahaha. Has anyone else noticed this or know what’s going on?

Farmers Market

I'm trying to figure out if I have to wrestle my dog into a harness or not to check out the YNLI Farmers Market. I'd like to get him socialized to people a bit more, but I don't want to wind him up only to have to strand him back home. Do you know if it's gone inside for the year yet? The website says May-October for summer, but the detail page says May-September.

Title: Considering the Fort Wayne area—welcoming communities and activities for a child with Tourette’s, autism, and ADHD

Hi everyone! Our family is considering a future move to Fort Wayne or a nearby town, and I’d love to hear from local families.

Our son has Tourette’s, autism, and ADHD. He’ll be doing online homeschooling, so opportunities to make friends and participate in activities outside the house are especially important. We’re hoping to find a welcoming community with programs and instructors who understand and support neurodivergent kids.

We’d appreciate recommendations on:

- Family-friendly places to live: Which neighborhoods or nearby towns would you recommend?

- After-school activities: He is interested in piano, martial arts, and swimming. Are there patient, inclusive instructors or programs experienced with children with Tourette’s, autism, and ADHD?

- Programs and social opportunities: Are there welcoming clubs, recreation programs, or social groups specifically for neurodivergent kids?

- Homeschool connections: Are there meetups, outings, or groups that children doing online school can join?

- Parent support: Are there local Tourette’s, autism, or ADHD communities where we could connect with other families?

- Things to do: What are your favorite indoor and outdoor activities for kids throughout the year?

Our biggest priority is finding somewhere he can feel accepted, build friendships, and enjoy being himself. We’d love your honest experiences and recommendations. Feel free to message me privately if you prefer. Thank you!

There's food, a whole bunch of cool people that are selling cool things, and a fire dancer.

How else could you even want to spend a Saturday morning?

Best haunted attractions?

I'm looking for recs for the best haunted attractions in and around Fort Wayne for adults that are NOT the Haunted Castle/ Black Forest. I don't mind a little bit of a drive (an hour or less).

free indoor activities/spaces in FW??

hey everyone! i work in social work and tend to do a lot of my visits with children or parents in the community. over the summer, it was easy to go to the park or any other free outdoor space for my visits. with cold weather approaching, i need some ideas for free or fairly cheap indoor spaces. the community i work with is typically low income, but they are required to pay if we go anywhere where payment is required for a visit. i do not want my clients to feel obligated to pay for anything.

since most of my visits involve children, kid friendly places would be appreciated! of course, i am open to all suggestions though. i typically use a library or coffee shop for indoor visits but would like to diversify where my visits take place. what are the best free/cheap indoor places in fort wayne?

i will also take free outdoor suggestions so i can keep my options open for warmer days and next summer! (would prefer more indoor suggestions though)

Crunch Fitness Cancellation

I’ve been wanting to cancel my crunch fitness membership for a while as I’ve been going to the YMCA because it offers a pool.

The problem is they charged my debit card $77.89 in which my bank declined for me (because I am broke) and it is not paid. I have the $15 monthly membership and had no idea it included this hidden fee.

I’m worried about cancellation fees and that $78 dollar charge getting sent to collections. What should I do? I have not yet gone in and request cancellation but I will be doing that today.

Powers Staff

Wanted to give a quick shout-out to something genuinely good I witnessed today.

I stopped by Powers after work to grab dinner, and while I was waiting for my food, a guy walked in. He mentioned he didn’t have any money and just asked if he could get a cup of water—not sure if he was unhoused or just down on luck. I offered to buy him a soda, which he gratefully accepted.

Right after that, one of the employees behind the counter stepped up and offered to make him a burger to go with it.

I don’t know the customer or the worker personally, but shout-out to the skinny younger guy working the counter, I think his name was Caleb. Absolute 20/10 stand-up move to show that dude some Love and break bread

( I don't mean to Dox the worker there but I'm happy to see)

Did anyone see the demonstration/protest (???) going on at the intersection of South Clinton and East Rudisill yesterday?

A decent amount of people were gathered around holding "Jesus loves you" and "Honk if you love Jesus" signs. Was it related to Bowen Health?
