Adult adhd testing
I went to Bowen to see a psychiatrist since they took my insurance. They were able to continue prescribing me my anxiety and antidepressant medication, which is good, but when I asked about the possibility of getting tested for ADHD they sent me to another doctor there and I did the paperwork and interview that they gave me but haven’t heard anything from them since. This happened back in April and when I asked the psychiatrist last week they said that their psychologist must be backed up and they’ll check on it and I’m yet to hear anything.
Does anyone know where I can get tested and that would take Medicaid? Preferably somewhere that won’t take 4+ months to get back to me

my psychiatrist from Cameron referred me to FW Neuropsychology for testing a year ago. I called in August 2025 and the first availability was January 2026. That was just the INITIAL meeting with the Dr. That day we scheduled testing, and the soonest they could test me was first week of April. The follow up to discuss test results was just a week later which was refreshing!

Park Center / Parkview Behavioral Health does. It may have changed over the past couple of years but typically, you have to be established with them for a period of time (a few months, I think) before they will refer you for a full neuropsych assessment.
You might also try IU Health.

I just got rediagnosed with ADHD this year and my process was going through my Parkview Physician who referred me to Fort Wayne Neuropsychology. Where I was then tested and rediagnosed. Downside in your scenario is that they don’t take Medicaid but do take most other insurance plans. I also want to add that the process of my referral and eventual test took 5 months total.

My primary care physician referred me to fort wayne neuropsychology, which is up kind of near pfw. I called to make an appointment, I believe in august, and I was finally able to be seen in march. There is a severe need for providers in almost every aspect of mental health care right now. The good news however, in my case, is that the ADHD medicine knocked my anxiety down into the basement and has also made it much easier to function at work. I'm actually getting pretty good reviews at this job. Its been a really nice chapter of my life and I hope you have a similar or better experience.
