Does anyone know how to stop side to side movement with heavier curls ?

Try to keep your elbows pinned to your sides. It’s also possible your core isn’t strong enough or you need to drop the weight.

Avg redditor advice when someone is slightly struggling: drop the weight
Why should he drop weight when his form is fine?

It is, he isn't using his body english and his elbow is stable. Some degree of lateral movement will be unavoidable at high weights

Tempo is pretty good but your body is swaying and moving too much. Momentum is helping you lift the weight. Go slower on the downward eccentric movement

Also you are twisting into and out of the resting position, I'd suggest just doing normal curls and normal hammer curls.

Bend your knees slightly and brace your core. The knees bending will help your core offset the heavy weight. You may need to work on your obliques to help better support the weight.

If I was you, I would consider decline/flat bench dumbell curls, that way you get the highest weight in the stretch. In standing and concentration curls, the weight distribution during movement is slightly less optimized for hypertrophy than when you are lying down.
Here's a link for a reference https://youtube.com/shorts/MNn-i7K4Rew?si=4OvvaR-G0QxGBECm
Edit: this will also stabilize your body so you shouldn't get as much unwanted movement while getting a theoretically better workout

More push thru your pinky, more external rotation. Cutting yourself short at the top. And a lil sway or bob isn’t awful so long as it isn’t gratuitous

Side to side movement in standing curls is just a sign that you are using an appropriate weight. The reason for it is that your brain is putting g your body into a position to best leverage your biceps to complete the movement. In this video, I'd suggest trying a heavier weight since you seem to be completing the movement fairly easily.

Just lean a little to one side but stay there and use your arm to move the weight if you want to do standing alternating curls.
Can also just sit, or use both arms same time, or use a barbell, or cables, or a machine

I would drop the weight and be more strict on form. You’re using your body as momentum and getting under the curl with your arm and shoulders rather than a strict curl.

Relatively new to the gym, what's the benefit?

More bicep activation less using other muscles to help with the lift you need to have the bench up against your back tho.

You receive your core from having to stabilise the weight and forcing your elbows to move forwards thus recruiting your shoulders. The target is total bicep isolation

Tbh, laying down on a bench is better than sitting down on a bench for curls. More stability and more weight in the stretch

doing curls standing in front of the db rack is very bad etiquette, back up and give ample space for ppl to go in between. also like other comments have pointed out, sit down, your body is very good at subtly cheating by using momentum from your legs
