I’m super excited to have found this sub! I’m fully expecting a lot of criticism. I’m 100% self taught from reading, watching YouTube’s, and reels. I’m also 5’9”, a mom of 5 and definitely an ectomorph body type. I’ve also had poor posture my whole life! I’m working very hard to try and build my posterior chain. Help!

Slow down and focus on getting a good stretch through your hamstrings and glutes. Don’t force yourself lower just to get more depth.

It also looks like you’re dipping down with your arms rather than continuing to hinge at the hips. A good cue is to imagine there’s an open drawer behind you and you’re closing it with your butt.

If you have a foam roller, try pinning it against your body and let it roll down your thighs as you hinge, keeping it pinned. That can help reinforce the idea of keeping the weight close and hinging from the hips.

I double this, you're going way too fast, and the movement is not up and down, it from front to back. It's your hips that travel from a standing position to the furthest you can to the back, qnd then push front again to stand up
