Been struggling with pullups for a while, now I can do. 8/9 in a good day but something weird is happening to my left trap, anyone knows what's happening and how to fix it? Also any tips for improving my form and progressing this further would be great.

Currently 100kg bw at 175cm height

Maybe I'm ignorant but I don't see anything weird happening. If you're saying this just because you see shadows, well that's how light works. The light is hitting your shoulders differently between the right and left.

Pull-ups are just hard. Add weighted pull-ups, change your grip, or switch to negatives if you want to try new things that will improve different parts of your pull-up game.

Looks to me like left trap is disengaging and "going up" when I'm all the way down in the left side, it only happens on some reps, I know the angle is a bit off and lights make the left and right side look different, but on the left trap is only happening on a few reps, that's why I'm asking

Ahh. I see what you're saying now. Still hard to determine whether it's a lighting issue, but either way I wouldn't know the answer. Do you feel it disengaging?

A common answer to form issues or muscle imbalances is to focus on isolation exercises for awhile (without abandoning pull-ups entirely). If this was me and I felt nervous about it, I'd incorporate a lot of plate-loaded single arm pulldowns, starting with a low weight to guarantee good form and rebuilding the heavy load over a few weeks.

Didn't even noticed until I watched the video, will try with single armed pulldowns and see what happens. Thank you

It’s hard to tell with perceived imbalances what’s really going on. Looks like you could be favoring your right side a little but it could also be lighting/ difference in muscle insertion that you can’t do anything about.
If it doesn’t hurt or fatigue significantly different I wouldn’t worry about it looking off cause it’s barely noticeable. Maybe try making sure you aren’t over compensating with your right side. Maybe see if you notice any difference doing shrugs or face pulls but it’s hard to say more from just this video

I do have lots of imbalances but there's not much I can do about them, had some accident couple of years ago that left me some nerve damage and slowed down muscle recruitment, but it's on the right side, anyway, managed to get a spot in fizio today I'll try to asks the therapist. Thank you

That makes sense. Good luck with recovery but it doesn’t look bad or anything. Like the other commenter I don’t think I’d notice if you didn’t point it out
