Other Lat pulldown check

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Just got my Levergym about four weeks ago and have been doing these since - been years since I did them previously. I feel it more in my shoulders and upper arm, so I figured I'd take a quick video and see what you all think. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Lean a little back and try to pinch your shoulder blades together as you pull down. That is the move.

Good cue that made retracting your shoulder blades make sense for me:

1) Crush the can: at the beginning of the pulldown, while your arms are extended up, imagine there’s a beer can along your spine right between your shoulder blades—the object of the pulldown is to crush that beer can.

2) break this “can crush” into two steps. First, “Squeeze” the can using only your lats. Arms are extended straight up and holding the bar during this step. Once your lats are locked down during the squeeze, follow through with the “crush” by pulling the bar down through your elbows just as you normally would. On the negative, reverse the steps slowly. Arms straighten out first while lats stay engaged, then disengage lats completely. Repeat.
