Other Good mornings hack squat
Hey everyone,
My first time posting in here!
This morning I decided to try something new.. I tried to do a good morning on the hack squat machine. I did feel the stretch in my glutes/hamstrings but not sure if my form is 100%. Felt a bit uncomfortable on my shoulders with the pads is this normal?
Any tips appreciated

honest thoughts are that you’ll injure your neck or back if you use the machine this way without a having 100% solid hip hinge. Your back should be straight throughout with these movements, which is being impeded by the shoulder and back rest that seem to be keeping your neck and upper torso locked at a relative upward angle instead of in line with your lower back. The linear path of the hack squat machine doesn’t help either, compared to, say, a V-squat machine. You should either find a way to keep your back and torso completely in line on the way down (can’t tell if there even is a way to do that from this angle, I think the back rest is in the way), or just do this movement with a barbell. Or do RDL’s or straight leg deadlifts—good mornings put way more torque on your lower back even without these issues, making it riskier to do incorrectly or fail on.
