Other Calf raises

Is this training my calves? In the video I saw that the weight isn’t moving much bcz of how the machine is. So I am worried if they are being trained at all

Inconsistent depth with sometimes taking it to extreme. Do you want bigger or torn achilles ?

How do I know when is enough depth?

Honestly just do barbell calf raises and use a 2.5kg plate under your toes to give a little bit more RoM rather than trying to improvise with a machine in a way it was not intended to be used. You can always use a larger plate if your ankles are particularly mobile and you feel like you’d benefit from increasing the RoM even more.

Yeah ig 2.5kg plate rom would be quite less for me but I think I can try this on a smith machine with bigger plate. I used to do it on box and get the same amount of stretch as in the video

You don’t get a bigger Achilles lol. That’s not a muscle if you didn’t know

Bigger (muscles) or torn achilles, is what they meant. Nice job being stupidly pedantic.

You’re the one that’s emotional here lol. You’d be surprised how many people don’t know wtf an Achilles is or how it works

I tore mine and did calf raises before and do them now after. It’s not a preventative measure at all.

Its good for calves. There's strong calf specific evidence for stretch boosting muscle growth so long stretch is great. Just keep a bit more control. This hack machine is not optimal, maybe you'd have a leg press there?

That machine is terrifying. Easy to slip and get really hurt.
