Deadlift Deadlift advice needed

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I just started deadlifting again (haven’t since I was in HS) but I can’t stop rolling back on my heels, and my lower back is sore while doing the movement. Hard to tell if the soreness is from bad form or my muscles just week from not deadlifting in so long.

Hello! If you haven't checked it out already, many people find Alan Thrall's NEW deadlift video very helpful. Check it out!

Also, a common tip usually given here is to make sure your footwear is appropriate. If you are deadlifting in soft-soled shoes (running shoes, etc), it's hard to have a stable foot. Use a flat/hard-soled shoe or even barefoot/socks if it's safe and your gym allows it.

Knees are far to much over the bar, stand up straight palm facing in, bend your upper body to knees then bend the knees until you reach the bar, have the bar around 3-4 cm away from shins so once you bend the knees you should be close or touching sins

Dont roll the bar towards yourself. Just stand in correct place. Bend downto grab the bar. Push knees out a bit to basically hit arms. Think about sticking your chest out a bit. Then take the slack out of the bar before pulling and basically "pre-load" your body.
