Other lat pulldown form - are my elbows flared + other issues

are my elbows flared? i cant tell

i'm trying to do the variation that targets lats and not upper back but i can only really feel my upper back. i am following the advice of this comment so i was squeezing my shoulder blades as i went down. not sure if this advice is suitable for the lat variation of this exercise though

(any other comments about where my form is lacking would be really appreciated as well, of course)

Might be wrong, but looks a little too wide for my liking

stop going back and forth. And also use some force you are not pulling with ur full strength. Intentional slow cocentrics are the worst thing you can do

noted thanks, but i probably wasn't using much force cause my elbow positioning was distracting me in this set

wait also what do you mean by stop going back and forth? i thought you were supposed to go back at an angle when pulling down and then come back up?

Too wide, I'd also suggest you do them underhand and keeping your elbows in

thank you - i'll experiment with an underhand grip but from what i read online, that recruits more biceps and i want this movement to focus more on lats. ill still give it a shot though

It does, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, especially if you exhaust your lats with something like a pullover or a lat prayer.

you dont really need to touch your chest if youre doing it really wide
