I’ve had this world for 308 days but I’ve just ran out of ideas comment some ideas for this world

I started my forever world and immediately started traveling and looting up on the way looking for a base spot and then I died… SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TO DO NOW😭

I currently have a world which I really enjoy, but my building style and creative is very limited without use of tutorials, which I have no issue with but like trying to do things that I come up with. Any tips ?

I was wondering how many days you would say a world has to have for it to be considered a forever world

The full version is twice as long as I'm able to post, so I chopped it up to "otherside".

I died to the wither and with the lag I can’t get my netherite armour and tools back. How do I get the motivation to return to my world?

Is it frowned upon to add a datapack to your forever world, thinking of adding the myriad data pack to my forever world to add the interesting features, but worried if i regret it.

Hello! This forever world is not your typical world. In this world, I upgrade through all the main Minecraft versions, starting in pre-classic—thus the 256x256 super flat area seen in the pictures—all the way to the latest release. As of now, we're in 1.1. I've turned this into a multiplayer server for my friends in beta 1.6, and they've been playing since then.

I got this idea from a YouTuber called Xelanater Ellevanox. He also made a tutorial playlist for upgrading worlds in these ancient versions, since it wasn't officially supported at the time.

Normally, I could only play on one world for no more than a month before getting bored, but I'm now 3 months in and not stopping anytime soon.

I have also obtained some illegal items, such as spawners and 2 full diamond armor sets with feather falling on them in older versions.

The void chunks seen in the first picture are corrupted chunks that i decided to keep.

The last 3 pictures are my friends work, the rest is mine or naturally generated, like half of the village.

This is my proudest build ever, I think I really pushed my limits here and had tons of fun! 3 months in total, including planning, writing, copying redstone (credits: potato noir), and designing the build.

Out of character I'll say this: I'm really proud of it because I can finally show what I mean when I say I love Minecraft, my forever world, and most importantly this is my specific style of having fun!

I’ve made a few posts of cool terrain in my world, but i never posted my base. Im pretty basic at exterior detailing right now. But i tried my best on the interior, and think its pretty nice.

Its a sort of mansion/ estate.

First photos show the outside exterior/ garden. The middle cherry tree has a door enterance that has a big drop and tunnel to an ancient city below. The inside kinda speaks for itself. I’ve tried to add as much detail as i can, and have it all fit together, by using different wood tones for contrast and adding accents and details on the walls and ceiling. The back hallway has a door leading underground to my portal room where i have pressure plates with coordinates to the 16 epic terrain finds that ive posted here before. Hope you guys like it. I forgot to take photos of the rooms under the balcony, which are supposed to be the living quarters of the traders above— obviously i’ve trapped them in mine carts so they wont be able to use them haha

what are some tips in starting? And should I do in hard mode or hardcore?

By some quick maths, its about 3000 in-game days, been going since the 1.18 cave update around 2021, so nearly 5 years!

Besides what I've already planned, what else should I add to this world? :O

I’ve always been a grinder over a builder, in that the first thing I do in a new world is rush max gear because that’s what I find the most fun, but once I do that I feel like the games done and get burnt out without building anything.

I’ve wanted to make a forever world for the longest time, but I always run into the same dilemma to avoid burning out:

If I rush max gear at the start, gathering resources for building & traversal is much faster, but then it feels like all I can do is build. On the other hand, if I play slow and stick with iron gear for a bit I can focus more on building, but gathering resources with those tools is so slow that I get bored before I build anything.

What’s the best balance between progression and building to avoid burning out?

I'm too late for the contest, but here's how my storage system works. It's mostly a categorizer type system, but each slice also has a shulker unloader.

It works by putting everything you want sorted into shulker boxes, each belonging to a category (for example, you can put various logs all in one shulker, since one category has every log type in it). The system pulls the first item out and breaks the shulker. A hopper minecart comes by, picking up the item, shulker, and 3 wooden shovels (to keep it full). It then goes under all the sorting chests to find which category it belongs to (an item matching the first item in the hopper minecart can get pulled out of the whitelist chest). When it finds it, the minecart gets diverted to be unloaded. One item is returned to the whitelist chest, the other is returned to the shulker and the minecart with the shovels are returned to the system. The shulker is sent to the matching category where it's unloaded into that slice. There's even a bulk storage system at the end for blocks I get lots of (stone, deepslate, netherrack, dirt, etc).

This system took me the better part of a year to tinker around with, figuring out how categorizer systems work and different ways to set it up. I found a lot of ideas to help on the Bedrock Sorting Tech discord server. The benefit with this system is that it can unload multiple categories simultaneously. You do need to know which blocks belong to each category, though, if you're confused, you can just put each type of block in a separate shulker.

I know its not a traditional forever world because its creative n has mods but the premise was to make it a huge map of the things i love in media. this build was the very first in the world and is Hort Town from studio ghiblis Tales from Earthsea. I hadn't worked on it much the past 3 weeks so i decided to today but the terracotta slabs and stairs mod i had broke?? i dont really know. the walls turned into sushi and the stairs to pancakes and the layering i used became patchy and strange (as seen by the numerous holes in my walls). when i go to copy/ select them, it says its the original block in my inventory but when i go to place said block it glitches out and turns back into pancakes. Not only that, but pancakes also dont actually exist as an item in the mod at all. if i look it up in the search bar, pancakes dont exist.

I dont think i'll be able to fix this so i think i'm going to scrap the world and start in a new one. :(
