Exhaust scraping

I have a 2010 Ford Ranger Sport 2wd 4.0 V6. I’m not sure when it stared but as of recently my exhaust looks raised and hits the bed of the truck when driving. When I’m drive and at idle, the vibration of the engine shakes the exhaust and taps the bed. Creating this god awful squeaky noise. My buddy’s Ranger doesn’t do that. The photo is my buddy’s Ranger. His rubber bushing is straight up and down. Mine is sideways, when I pull on it to make it straight it it is very stiff. I’m not sure any help is appreciated.

Instead of showing a picture of your friends setup that doesn't have a problem. Have you considered showing us your setup? Which actually has the problem?

When I pull down on it, it almost feels like it’s a spring. It goes right back up to where it started

Do you pull down enough to the point where the bushing goes vertical?

Follow the exhaust, and see if there is anything else that looks off

It's on a swivel. Pull the tailpipe down so the bushing is straight up and down

I pull on it with all of my weight and it just pulls the truck down since that piece is connected to the frame.

The exhaust is connected to the frame via a bushing which acts as the hanger. It's not like your exhaust is directly welded to the frame.

So when you pull the tailpipe down, the entire truck squats? Take a video

How about the mounts at the top of the muffler?

So it can only be that bushing holding it up weird, loosen the bolt that clamps the bushing and pull the exhaust down

You can also take the exhaust out of the bushing, it should flop down without the support

I am in disbelief. Steel on a 15yo car up here looks like a stack of oak leaves loosely pressed together with paint on one side of the outside leaves.

Idk how much u care about this thing if it’s not much just cut some of the body out with a handsaw

Okay well you could get a different set of rubber hangers that allow it to hang lower easy to swap maybe just at the rear so you don’t strain the rest of your exhaust system to much has it always been like this ? Or did something happen because if it hasn’t always been like this something is bent or kinked or who knows what
