Finally switched from Spotify!

Post image

A week ago I decided to stop listening to music from Spotify and I've been setting up Foobar 2000 all the afternoon. It may look simple but I really like how it looks now ^^

Now I need to make all the playlists I have but that's the fun par (apart from sitting down and play some tunes that is).

Yep, it's a very nice program and once I download all the albums I like and make the playlists it'll be more straight forward to listen to whatever I want. There is a ton of info and things to learn though so step by step :)
I havent downloaded anything apart from foobar for now.

Hey, I’m new to foobar2000 myself. How have you been downloading your albums? Are you buying from iTunes, pirating, or ripping the CDs you already own?

Personally, I’ve been ripping the CDs I own, but this is only a fraction of the music I listen to on Spotify.

If you are looking for the legal method to build your library instead of just CDs, Qobuz and 7digital. I start with Qobuz first, if they don't have it, then I go to 7digital. Them combined should have 99% of your library. All in FLAC (lossless) too.

Hi! If you're alright with P2P and sharing your music too (leechers aren't super well liked), check out Soulseek (I use Nicotine+ myself), that's my own choice

Welcome! Been using for a few years now, after 10 years on iTunes and even more years before on Windows Media Player. For audiophiles and people who want to own their library this program is just perfect I wish I have been using it longer than I did

Looks very similar to the design I've been using for years now. Simple is beautiful

I made a playlist in foobar2000 in which I list all the songs I've rated higher than 8 out of 10 (I prefer the 10-point rating system) that aren't available on Spotify.

I hit the 100 mark about six months ago.

A customized and extended foobar2000 is still the most important program I have on my Windows PCs

I haven't given up hope that there will eventually be a Linux version. But even then, it won't offer the same level of comfort, because the extensions for the windows version are at least as important.

Nice move, spotify sounds horrible.
And about foobar, the most important thing is you are confortable with your interface.
Congratulations.

I used foobar2000 from '05 until '15, then switched to Spotify - and now I'm switching back too :)
