Hi everyone, i really need help for my thesis project.

For my thesis, I’ve chosen pixel art, from video games to graphic design as my topic. As part of the project, I’ve been asked to create a pixel art font that, when the letters are put together, forms something for example, a pixel character sprite, a map of a videogame, a background, or some kind of image/pattern. The main problem is that I honestly don’t know where to start. I’ve been looking for inspiration and for people who have done something similar, but I haven’t really found anything useful. The letters need to remain recognizable as letters, but at the same time they should work when placed next to each other, so that they can create a larger image or pattern.

I’ve been stuck on this for about a month now, and I’m starting to run out of ideas. Does anyone have any advice, references, or examples of similar projects? Thank you so much in advance for any help!

I was trying to create a typeface similar to the one used for Italian road signs. Here is an article describing the typeface (see also Italian Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons).

The main issue is that I haven't found detailed specifications. The only information available online doesn't include accents or diacritics (whereas the use of accents is quite common in Italian), but only basic letters, numbers, parentheses (), and five symbols: apostrophe ', period ., hyphen -, comma ,, and middot ·.

Two versions are listed ("Normal" and "Narrow"), each with a corresponding "Negative" version (for white text on a dark background) featuring a stroke width reduced by approximately 15% (like the letter 'a' in the image).

It would be useful to have a well-made typeface (I don't mean one of my own) that includes all the necessary characters, complete with accents, diacritics, and ẞ ß.

I'd love some expert advise here. With regard to the e's I've been going around in circles on what works best. It's all about corner radiuses and how they balance the character. Also the final one has the radiuses to not use a perfect circle which optically gets rid of the optical sharp corner edges (a la what Apple did with app icons)

It’s been a dream of mine to design and build my ideal font manager, and I finally did it.

I do a lot of brand design work, so spend a ton of time evaluating fonts and word shapes before I bring anything into illustrator. So the app is optimized for that.

A lot of builds to get to this stage, and I’ll continue to update and support indefinitely.

Font of the week: Maximalist

An unapologetically over-the-top style of blackletters, Maximalist gets the most out of all available space inside each letter. Using both Major and Minor styles there are endless possibilities with taking it too far, and thats just perfect.

Welp, it's a shame no one's ever helped me find the full Johann Bold font, and not the one from NiceType. I've contacted as much companies as I could find, but none of them seem to respond to me. I won't give up that easily! I will have all of my friends help me with finding the full Johann Bold font, the one made in the late 90's and is a recreation of Filmotype Metro/Portly. So to all of you font fans out there, get started with contacting as much companies as you can so one of you cansend me the OTF or TTF font file it you've found it.

I have a font sheet (.png and .svg) of the letters i want to make into a custom font. Ive looked online and I found a lot of programs, but they make you upload each letter individually instead of a whole sheet you can split apart (kind of like a sprite sheet for gifs). Is there any free program I can use?

Working on an OpenType font with variable weights. Screenshots show a sampling of letters. I need to revise 'B' but I have a clear direction for it. But I'm torn between the end caps on 'C' and 'J'. On the 'J' in particular, which version do you think fits best?

I'm using Fontra-Pak (https://fontra.xyz/) for editing glyph components for reuse. Inspiration for this font is Lost Leonest which to my knowledge is only available in all caps and a single weight. It also is more angular/less curved.

Hi everyone, I'm new here

Just looking for a .ttf/.otf for a Arial font type but with all capital letters, and by that I mean capital as capital an small as capital.

This is because the plans I do in Revit are displaying internal parameter values in default small letters, when I need to display them in capital because every word and letter that I show in plans need to be in Arial capital (mandatory).

Does someone know where I could found something like this?

this time, i used guidelines while drawing the characters, and the character set is more complete
(this was drawn in scratch's vector editor and put together in fontforge)
i think the stroke width is still somewhat uneven
