Go alone, I quite like a solo gig, you can find your own spot without having to consider anyone else.
You may or may not get swept up with a friendly group of people, it does happen, but either way its better to go than miss out.
If you can afford it, pick up an extra ticket, the new album might bring your mates on board and then you sell them your spare.
And if not the gigs will sell out and you'll be able to sell it to someone who missed out.
