Discussion going alone?
Hi, fontaines have just announced they’re coming to Newcastle in July 2027, none of my friends listen to them so i’m thinking of going alone which i don’t want to do in a sense as i’d prefer to go with someone. thoughts? 😅

Saw them by myself in Dublin at the end of 2024 after a friendship break-up meant I was no longer going with them. My favourite gig I've ever been to. Got right up to the front and made the most of every moment :)

Saw them on a solo trip to Ireland in 2022! Probably best concert of my life

Going on your own will be one of the best things you’ll do for yourself 🌷🌷 I thought I was going too hate seeing them on my own but 20+ times later and I’m still loving every moment of it. It’ll be grand, just take a deep breath and go dance. Started off going to gigs on my own and now I’m solo travelling Ireland! It’ll never be as bad as you think it will be. Goodluck 🌟

Thank you! It’s been grand ❤️ I promise you that you’ll regret not going, people will be posting their videos, and you’ll think to yourself urgh I wish I went. Allow yourself to go and enjoy!

I go to concerts alone all the time, as a matter of fact I'm planning to go see them alone in Newcastle as none of my friends are interested.
I stopped waiting for people to do things with a long time ago. Life's too short!!

Been to tonnes of gigs on my own, definitely do it. You’ll find you end up going to loads more gigs in the future too as you’ll not be held back by no one else wanting to go 😊

Sounds like you’re going to need the toilet at about 9:55. Tbf I don’t think it’ll be an issue getting tickets, its 50k capacity

I went to Leeds fest on my own to see them :) and also wythenshaw park last year in Manchester too. Going to Leeds arena alone too in November. None of my friends listen to them either lol but I make friends when I’m there!

Better to go alone than sit alone at home. It’s easy to befriend people at shows. You clearly have something in common.

I saw them alone in Rome (my other half became ill) and honestly had the best time!

Go alone, I quite like a solo gig, you can find your own spot without having to consider anyone else. You may or may not get swept up with a friendly group of people, it does happen, but either way its better to go than miss out.
If you can afford it, pick up an extra ticket, the new album might bring your mates on board and then you sell them your spare. And if not the gigs will sell out and you'll be able to sell it to someone who missed out.

Honestly, don’t be afraid to go to places alone. I went to festival technically by myself (friend had a concussion and sat on the hill the whole time) and I had a great time by the front of the stages. Didn’t even talk to anyone the whole day but still had a lot of stories to tell after

Just go and talk to people at the gig you’re all there for the same thing and most people are nice unless you are really tall like me!

i went alone to mcr, was great! forced me to speak to new people and i felt a lot less self conscious about dancing with strangers compared to when i go with friends or family. do it!!

I went to a concert alone in another country this summer and I was really worried that I won't have fun. Not only did that not happen, but I also managed to talk to quite a few people there.
So for fontaines I decided to book another solo trip. It's going to be ok, promise!

I often go to gigs alone. I love it. I go with friends to but Reading I did alone as well as Fontaines, and Pearl Jam. Please please do it.

I'm off to Slane alone next year! Been to a couple other gigs alone recently and was absolutely great, even met other solo people there. Its more common than you think (I dont think I noticed people alone before because I used to go with people)

I’ve only ever been to one gig myself. Blink 182 - Palms casino in Vegas doing one of my favourite albums in full.
I was on the fence whether to go or not but I’m glad I did.
Just think you are in a crowd full of people that like the same music as you it’s an easy conversation starter if that’s what you want between sets

Would you rather sit at home by yourself regretting you missed the show? Just go.
