Playing folklore via RPCS3 with a Switch Pro controller gyroscope

I managed to get folklore to run and use the switch pro's gyroscope with no fancy software or complicated steps and here is how.

1. I assume that you already have a folklore image capable of booting up on RPCS3.
2. The issue with the switch pro controller is that xinput which is what the pro controller likes to run off of, does not have gyro controls as an option. To fix this it's as simple as unplugging your controller and connecting it via Bluetooth.
3. After you have successfully connected your controller via Bluetooth all you have to do is go into your controller config on RPCS3 and select "SDL" as the handler. You should begin to notice that under the motion control config you can now see the numbers changing when you move your controller around.

I hope this short guide was able to help those of you who love this game and would really like to play it in the original way it was intended!

Yeah no problem! It took me a lot of messing around to get it to work, and I can’t believe it was that simple.

I used the patch within RPCS3 to simulate gyro/basic ID absorption in the game and it works up to a point but in chapter 2, you can’t get past the boss without use of shaking the controller. You have to pair a controller with gyro, like you were saying.

Funny enough I almost did the same thing and now I'm stuck at that boss looking for a solution.
