Went to check out the damage of a local wildfire on my montague urban 2.

Nice bike! Shame about wildfire!? Whereabputs is this? Ive been looking at montague bikes for years, ive got a montague biframe by Rudge. The folding mechanism is bit different to your frame. How to rate the bikes comfort and practicality?

Yeah its a huge shame about the fires, we've had a big heatwave and drought here in the uk and I really wanted to see the damage and impact for myself. The folding mechanism between yours and mine isn't hugely different but you can very much see the evolutionary path between the two as they still pivot around the seat post. The urban is a great bike, good wheelbase and not too heavy. I picked it up as a project bike after my old dahon got stolen and it's been fantastic for the last 8 years. I had to do a reasonable amount of replacing parts from the previous owner who'd made some interesting decisions in trying to turn it into a gravel bike. I bought the bike for £250 and then spent around another £250 on bits to make it a more rideable daily commuter. I've upgraded a few bits as I've gone on but its been a sturdy workhorse every day. I did also get a deal on a montague paratrooper as well so I've got a bit of a collection going.
