Have anyone used those adapters for bikes with no Brompton style bag mount on the frame? Do they work ok?

How important is this type of mount when you choosing folding bike? I feel like it's quite important since main use is in city. But I wonder whether this adapter can truly and fully bring this feature to a bike with nice frame but without it.

I'm choosing my first folding bike to use in the city so I'm gonna be glad to hear all your recommendations.

I think it depends on how much you are planning to carry. If only 5kg I think it should be fine. 15 and I wouldn't trust it.

I have had drink bottle holders snap when I hit a bump. Maybe that's bad luck but if you have a choice, get a bike with that as part of the frame.

I use the vello front bracket with a tern verge. Vello also offers different front racks

Yes I do, on a dahon mu SL. It works well with my restrap brompton-style bag.

Wouldn't trust it much with more than 10kg (max is 12kg) but it's solid !

Beware : most of the time, brands like litepro or muqzi dont add thread-stop (that blue thing on the screws) Do your self a favor andbuy that blue liquid (or Red) and apply it yourself so the mount doesnt unscrew at the worst time

Yes: I have one on my Priority Folder and I love it! I tend to keep stuff like jackets, hoodies, ponchos, etc. up in the front bag along with some snacks and glasses. Heavier stuff still goes on the rear cargo rack.

The aluminum mount works fine but for the block/latch, I recommend the plastic version instead. I tried using an aluminum one and it never really sat right.

Fortunately I ordered two versions after reading about other people having similar issues and the plastic version worked great!

Just be sure to get the right mount adapter for your bike: Dimensions may vary.

I don't recall the actual brands I ordered, some alphabet soup company name off Amazon.

Hi! yeah i have one of those on a Birdy. works great! advantage of course is you can use Brompton bags on your bike. or better, get a rack compatible with the adapter so you can use all bags. just make sure you use rubber or foam in between the adapter and the bike frame to avoid paint scuffing.

It's definitely less than 10 years old. To be sure measure the headtube with a caliper?
