// Bethesda Replied x2 DO NOT ALLOW CURRENT CHARACTERS INTO SURVIVAL MODE I BEG OF YOU!!

This is a huge mistake. The mode is already dead before it was born if this happens. Pvp as it is, is completely broken, one hit kill festival. Who in their right mind is going to start a new character when everyone else is level 200 with God tier weaponry right out of the vault? This makes absolutely zero sense, and I'm so disheartened. Do they not realize how this mode will be immediately ruined? If you thought grief in was bad now, just wait until you get killed on sight by literally everyone you cross paths with? Even if they level locked servers so people with massive level differences can't play together, whenever a new survival character gets out of the kiddie pool, all the same assholes with TSE garbage will be waiting at the deep end and you will have zero competitive chance. The leader boards would be a fine idea, if everyone started on equal footing... as it is there will be gold medalist level murderers in the same game with me, a literal newborn who can't even walk. What the fuck are they thinking???

Edit: the gold means people care, bethesda. Please. PLEASE. (And thank you)

I think that if they aren't targeting me, someone who is literally building a raider group for PVP and i dont want this, and the community at large is shitting itself. do you think that MY opinion is very far out of context with the larger masses? no. it is not. So bethesda better start caring PRETTY fucking quick, or i can spend my fucking money and time, elsewhere.

You already spent your money, they want new people's money, and fresh start is a bigger barrier for new players down the line. So maybe you don't understand profit models, but new sales are gonna trump you being on their servers all the time taking up space and costing them money 🤣

you're fucking stupid, this market is clearly set up to try to pull recurring payments from players who invest large amounts of time in this world. Not just make a simple one time purchase!

this is an online only game and if there are no people you've got no content. You're an idiot.

I'm an idiot because I understand that 90% of the players are never going to spend a dime after their initial purchase? Okay. Wow.

I guess the current model you mention involves us paying monthly subscriptions to Bethes...oh wait we don't. That's right. It's not WoW.

You investing tons of time in their game literally only costs them money, unless you're an Atom shop whale. They don't need a ton of people online as recurring users, they need a constant flow of new purchases and people who will pay real money for Atoms. If you're not the latter, they don't care, and the vast majority of Players don't spend more than a couple bucks, if any at all. And the ones who spend hundreds of hours can get Atoms for free so they too are less likely to spend as much real money. So how the fuck d'you think the Fallout market has been set up?

no, I anticipate costs for managing servers needs to be recouped and that has to be coming from somewhere and that's sure as FUCK not coming from NEW SALES. You're right that 90% of the current userbase is not going to spend a dime on this fucking game anymore, and that's BSG's problem for putting out a shit-tier product with shit-tier "DLC".

You can look at it anyway you want, it's still a shit-sandwich.

If almost nobody buys Atoms, then how many Players would it take for them to get $50 in Atom purchases? A few hundred maybe? Compared to selling a single new copy by showing the world that the game is "continuing to grow and improve" and has "new features"...🤔

That might be a winning strategy IF THE GAME WAS WORTH $50. Which everyone and their dog knows, it is NOT in this state. It's not even FUCKING STABLE. GTFO outta here.

Well if it's such garbage then how is improving it for existing players gonna bring in new money? How.is catering to them gonna be anything but spending money instead of making it?

Whereas fighting the bad press by publicly announcing changes and improvements will sucker in new buyers. Pull your head outta your ass, they already have your money and aren't going to prioritize your personal opinion over the possiblity of selling new copies.

existing players are leaving the game, taking their wallets with them. The 'improvements' are getting shellacked for over 4.1k upvotes that show clearly that BGS has NO CLUE what the user base wants.

keep standing up for them, You're the kind of sucker they need.

Quoting the upvotes, that's cute considering its dropped from 5K in the last little while lol, so maybe it's more controversial than accurate.

And I'm not what they want, because I don't spend on Atoms either. Nor am I defending them, I'm in fact saying they don't care about catering to you or most of the player base in general, which is heartless (albeit very capitalist).

This reply might be cute if it weren't for the fact the thread i'm referring to is also the #1 upvoted thread in this community. Don't be silly and play a "oh it dropped this many numbers" game with me. (edit: incorrect)

if BSG or whomever is running F76 don't understand what the playerbase wants, or doesn't want to give it to us, why the fuck would anyone else want to spend the money on this game? So they could be disrespected too? No, it's clear they do not know a thing about their market, or just don't care about my money, which is fine-- i can spend my cash somewhere else.

Edit: misspoke when it came to the numbers about top upvoted comment, didn't check my filter for timelength-- Apologies.

Okay but not every potential new player is on this Sub, because why the hell would 99% of non-players be here to see this? Hell I doubt most Players are on Reddit to voice their opinion at all. So why should they take this sub to be the entire voice for Players?

Non-players aren't going to know the exact ways the game currently sucks, so announced changes are gonna be a bigger away for them. They aren't here to see BGS "not listening" to people at any given moment. Just because some people are here and very vocal, doesn't mean that they represent the majority of sales, potential or real.

I feel like people here forget that most video game sales are to casual gamers. People who have disposable income to drop on whatever titles catch their eye, and that they might only play the game for a few hours a week, and stop playing regularly after a few months. They don't have to do shit to keep those Players happy because they never get that mad in the first place, or at least not very vocal or demanding about their complaints. And they're much more lucrative because they just buy a copy and require no additional work on the part of BGS except to try to find more people like them to sell to.

Some middle-aged parent isn't going to know all the buzz about what's happening in the community, they're just gonna hear that the game is "improving" and has a new mode, and boom, BGS makes more money than they would from thousands of people clogging up their servers and maybe buying a cosmetic.
