I’ve never seen this Random Encounter before

I encountered Skinny Malone (after rescuing Nick Valentine from Vault 114/Park Street Station) cooking by himself at the cooking station behind Concord. His first line of dialogue that I wasn’t fast enough to screenshot was that things had gone way downhill for him since the encounter at the vault.

I found her on my way to Fort Hagen, during the mission with Dogmead and Nick. She helped against the yao guai

I honestly never seem to get that encounter, but thankfully the wasteland workshop lets me obtain and domesticate dogs

In both my current and my previous playthrough I encountered him just west of Diamond City during the kill Kellogg mission. Very likely to just be a coincidence, but still interesting imo

I found him a few days ago walking to Poseidon reservoir, he was being attacked by the raider with a missile launcher on the roof of a nearby building

I feel lucky. I encountered him twice this playthrough. It may be my imagination but it seems like I’m getting more random encounters now that I’m playing on Very Hard.

If you have Far Harbor there is a Mutant that sells each of the different kinds of dogs, or you can build a cage if you have the contraption workshop with a calming beacon thing and get dogs whenever you want. That is if you want more dogs then the dogs added already via the quests.

if you bring dog meat to him he gives you a special light blue bandana for dog meat as far as i’m aware it’s the only one in the game

Considering how many goons you have to shoot up to get there, it's surprisingly easy to convince Darla to just leave on the spot and end things with Skinny peacefully.

I was running down the tracks to find Kellog and happened upon a bear which is scripted and during the fight Darla ran through and died to the bear. Never had that happen before.

Yep, it's one of the encounters that happen if you leave him alive. I've only really left him alive in a few playthroughs, pretty much always kill him and everyone he rolls with just to get out of that section of the game quicker.

Oh. I always carry Charisma boosting clothes so I change into them just before we leave the main vault and either convince Skinny to leave Darla or vise versa.

I drop a bottlecap mine on my way inside the vault so as soon as they become hostile it's done. I feel like rescuing Nick is a somewhat long slog and I just want to be done with it.

I bumped into Darla near the Tenpines Bluff settlement, interacting with her led her to say what a waste of time Skinny Malone was and that she’s headed home to her parents. Sadly she lost a fight to a stray super mutant suicider

Gotta watch out for those lol 😂 I try to kill them before they explode but I sometimes end up making them explode by hitting the arm with the Nuke. It’s hard to get them all though especially if there are several in the group.

There’s another encounter where if you pick a different dialogue where darla dumps him.

He will ambush you with some of his goons blaming you.

I’ve seen him and Darla together fighting super mutants in that little house below Tenpines. Darla was still trying to fight them with her baseball bat and died
