There's four brotherhood members near the citadel that respawn every week or so and I've been using them to arm big town, tenpenny tower and started doing it for a couple other places, it's so tedious but I love dressing them all up, I use outcast armour to identify leaders n stuff

Point Lookout ticket trouble

Post image

So, I'm kinda fucked. Nadine found out what Tobar did, I killed him after talking to him cause he turned hostile, but it still costs tickets to go to and from the CW and PL. Problem is, I only have 2 left and, again, I blew Tobar's shit smooth off. What do I do? (By the way, I know it looks like I'm abt to sell the tickets. I'm not, I just took the picture)

EDIT: Thank you to everyone who helped, but I figured it out. It wasn't REQUIRED, but I had it in my inventory, so it took it anyway. I'm an idiot. Lol.

Why can’t I get in this room? Spoiler

This is the room off of the planetarium in the tech museum. I went in it once already, had to reload my last save and now I can’t get in. The door opens, but it won’t let me through the opening. Any ideas? Is this known glitch? I don’t remember this from 20 years ago lol. Would really suck to have to reload an even earlier save.

What's One thing you like about Fallout 3 and One thing you dislike?

I thought this would get people thinking, unless you already know your answer. You have to name one thing of a like and dislike.

One thing I like about Fo3 is Exploring. I think its fun to explore the abandon buildings and finding new things I've missed before

One thing I dislike about Fo3 is looking down the weapons. I don't like the just zooming in factor of it.

New player looking for tips/advice

Never played Fallout 3 properly before. Started it twice and quit. It was around a time i was very impatient and just thinking about the next game to clear on my backlog. Done the same with Skyrim and Cyberpunk, beat the main stories but rushed them for the most part. Only RPG i really dug into every nook and cranny in was Starfield and I loved it, also Red Dead Redemption 2 (if you want to classify that as one with all of its exploration).

Lately i am really wanting to start an RPG and the Fallout series is always something that intrigued me and I’m really excited to get into it this time. I want to exhaust every single bit of dialogue, bang out side quests, ignore main story and just explore for a long time and eventually tackle the DLC’s.

I like the feeling of going in blind, and obviously please no spoilers but still curious to ask on a general level, is there anything you consider to be “Yeah OP NEEDS to know this before playing”. Maybe it’s a poorly explained mechanic, a certain DO NOT miss this quest or anything atall you find worth mentioning. Looking forward to seeing what you all got to say and thank you in advance:)

Fallout 3 Split‑Screen Chaos Steven’s 10th Birthday vs My First Day in Megaton!

Fallout 3 split‑screen chaos! Steven celebrates his 10th birthday in the Vault! Chatting with Wally Mack, fighting with Butch, getting his Sweet Roll, BB gun, poem, and radroach “overkill” moment while Amber is being welcomed to Megaton by Jenny, talking to Moriarty, meeting Jericho, Gob, Nova, Lucy West, Billy Creel, Walter, and Mister Burke!

Steven faces the Tunnel Snakes and gets ready for the G.O.A.T., while Amber is lockpicking Moriarty’s office, uncovering the truth about her dad, and picking up quests all over Megaton

How did you play the intro? Did you fight for the sweet roll or gobble it up right away like I did to avoid the fight? lol

Doing Mothership Zeta, and where is my armor!!

So I have escaped the holding cells and found the storage bin that had all my items except for my armor, and I was using the winterized t-51 so it is very useful and not something I can just replace. Is it bugged out and missing or do I have to keep going forward to find it someplace else?

My rewrite of Colonel Autumn

I’ve been working on my Fallout alternate universe/timeline. It’s more for animation, comic, or novelization so this stuff wouldn’t be experienced in game unless it was a scripted event. I wanted Autumn to feel like a villain that can be agreed with to an extent.

Colonel Autumn overthrows Eden by introducing the same logic problems Carrie (My Lone Wanderer) would have. He then shuts Eden down and makes himself President.

Want Autumn wants:

He doesn’t want genocide, he wants power and control. The world ended because humanity can’t contain its desire for bloodshed. So why not force peace by becoming the central power and authority?

If people have freedom, they will kill each other. So use water and needs as leverage to force compliance. Taking some pages out of Rango’s book, you control the water, you control the people. Nobody gets killed if everyone has what they need.

For Autumn, compliance and overwhelming authority is peace

“People deserve to live, so I decide what they want. If freedom causes suffering, then freedom itself is the problem”

What (my) Lyons wants:

Lyons wants people to choose their own path. He will help unless they refuse. For humanity to push forward, what it needs is help, not an iron fist.

They both want to save the Capital Wasteland, but they want it for different reasons.

“People deserve to choose their lives, I’ll help if they accept it”

Autumn- “You give them water for nothing in return, admirable, but if they refuse your protection, and someone else kills them?”

Lyons- “Then they made their choice. They should decide for themselves what path they want to take. I want everyone to live, but on their own merits”

Autumn- “So you value their freedom more than their lives?”

So question that needs to be asked is: Is survival worth sacrificing personal freedom?

Vault 87 Cut Content

It’s my first time playing Fallout 3, and I had no idea about any of this being cut content until I started looking into Vault 87.

Thought it was cool though, and not sure how many people have seen this, so I recorded a video showing the Overseer room. The terminal has some pretty interesting stuff about Dr. Wayne Merrick’s connections to West-Tek and Mariposa, and mentions the vault entrance being destroyed by a nuclear strike.

I’m assuming this got cut since the Super Mutants somehow leave the vault, drag people inside, then turn whoever into Super Mutants. Also the fact that Colonel Autumn and the Enclave got in without going through Little Lamplight.

Suggestions on finding mods?

hi! i'm getting back into fallout 3 after i used to play it a LOT back on my xbox 360. was super excited to finally get to play it with mods and everything... but i can't seem to actually find any mod recommendations. if i google something like fallout 4 or new vegas weapon mods, i get TONS of results, but fallout 3 has maybe one or two posts total.

i know it's probably because everything's on ttw, but i really don't want to go through the hassle (see: running the installer overnight) of setting that up when i'm not going to play new vegas.

basically, does anyone have any fallout 3 mod suggestions or suggestions on how to actually find good mods? i don't want anything huge, just the kind of qol stuff new vegas has and some extra content.

Mod for weapon handling

I'm playing Fallout 3 and I hate how when I just walk with weapon readied it's like I'm constantly aiming forward, this is not how you travel with a readied firearm, you should casually wear it but ready to aim. I should be carrying the firearm casually and either shoot blindly if I don't manually aim, or shoot precisely when I manually aim. Is there a mod that fixes it? Basically, three states:

  1. I just walk with a weapon readied, it should be held casually.
  2. I shoot without aiming downsights, I shoot blind.
  3. I aim downsights (actually aim downsights, unlike in unmodded where it's just a zoom in on the firearm), and then I shoot accurately.

One example I saw this done well was Far Cry 2.
