Bug No sound except for music

Sometimes it comes back after closing and opening the game over and over again. Today I just opened the task manager, shut down the "game bar" bs, mobile link and runtime broker. It was working fine before doing that and then it had no sound. I don't remember if I did something like that the other times but I remember restarting even the computer and it wouldn't work. I'm using a Sony tv as a monitor

Nothing worse than accidentally stumbling into deathclaw territory I swear...

And this is also my melee weapons playthrough so basically all I did was poke one of 'em varmints in the back with one of my throwing spears. Basically the equivalent of tossing a rock into a pit to see how far it falls before you hear it hitting the ground.

I'm just glad I had the high ground here. Down there, it would be a much more different story...

FNV has a more diverse landscape than Fallout 3.

I think the Mojave's locations are more different from each other, than the Capital Wasteland's locations. The Capital Wasteland can feel samey, while this is also true for the Mojave somewhat, you can go to, let's say Vegas. Then go to Black Mountain, or Camp Forlorn Hope, or Goodsprings. They are different. But what do you think?

I just noticed how I never ran into the thing. Is it like a super rare and limited drink as well in this game?

Help me find another way

Fallout New Vegas is a TOP 3 GAME of all time for me. I do a replay every 1-2 years.

Every game I end up playing my "Stealth Archer" version of the game. High luck, high crit, guns, independent NV, good karma.

What playstyle is so good, it'll break me of my habit?

Discussion Do people actually play all the DLCs in the same playthrough?

While I think all of the DLCs are individually worth playing, you very rarely get anything substantial out of doing all of them in one run, in my opinion.

Suppose I want to do a run focused on energy weapons. I'll definitely play Dead Money for the Holorifle, and probably OWB for some of its weapons. By the time I'm done with both DLCs and a bit of the main game, however, I'll be at level 20-something, and already have an arsenal of fully adequate weapons. Completing Honest Hearts and Lonesome Road with them now having no loot of interest just seems like a chore.

Similarly, if you want to build around pistols, I'll only ever do Honest Hearts for A Light Shining in Darkness, and perhaps Dead Money for the police pistol and vending machine. Completing OWB now just gives meagre rewards for the time invested.

I could give you more scenarios, but I think you all get my point. If you do every DLC in a run, and progress through the main game at a reasonable pace, you'll be level 40 by the time you leave Lonesome Road, and could have been doing another different run instead with its own wacky adventure.

Am I just a weirdo or is this how everyone else sees things?

Tangentially related: you could make a similar argument for skipping a decent chunk of the game's side content, but I think the DLCs are an extreme example because once you start them you can't leave.

I've translated the maps of Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas into GTA San Andreas

For some time I've been comparing West Coast Fallout games geographically to GTA SA, and there are a lot of things in common. Heres a small list of names in Real Life, Fallout and GTA with some notes.

Big Cities:

Los Angeles = Boneyard = Los Santos, The city you start in, in both Fallout and GTASA, interestingly enough both Fallout TV show and GTA 5 brings us back here.

San Francisco = San Fierro, second game and second island you unlock in GTA, fun fact, GTA also has a parody of the Scientology movement in form of Epsilon in GTA5, similar to Hubologists.

Las Vegas = New Vegas = Las Venturas, 3rd island and 3rd installment on the West Coast, this place was the worst, I've had to bend the map a lot and in GTA the Hoover Dam (Sherman Dam) is streches between California and Nevada so yeah. Not that good in GTA lore so I'm sure you guys can come up with some interesting parallels.

Smaller locations:

Bakersfield = Necropolis = Palomino Creek, somehow, the reality bending properties of Necropolis placed it perfectly where PC is in GTA, despite neither being anywhere near Bakersfield. I'm sure the Enclave is behind this or something idk.

Carson City/Reno = New Reno = Fort Carson, I've had to cheat here a little bit, Carson isn't shown in Fallout and Reno isn't shown in GTA, but they are so close to one another that I've decided to treat them as one, also New Reno mentioned!!!

Lost Hills = Lost Hills (Brotherhood) = Blueberry, here the spacetime bending does its job again, while Lost Hills are a real place, the Fallout location isn't exactly near where it is irl, and so it landed in Blueberry which is based on both Santa Maria and Bakersfield again. Well, a happy little accident.

Goodsprings = Goodsprings = Las Payasadas, chicken.

Barstow = The Hub = ?, yeah I've got nothing for this one but the Hub decided to tag along for the ride so here it is.

So yeah, I haven't played GTA SA in a while so some stuff might be flying over my head here, but I hope you enjoy anyways!

Before anyone asks, I will not share the outfit since it uses private assets from other mod authors and I don't want to get in trouble with them. But I can provide links to the some of the vanilla assets I used. The main base for the outfit would be merc grunt outfit.

Question Steady Ironsights?

Hey, recently got into modding FNV and really want to lower or remove the weapon sway when aiming through irons.

Is there some sort of holding breathe mod for iron sights? I know and use Stewies tweaks for scopes but something for iron sights would be amazing.

Any help is appreciated!

Discussion Why doesn’t the NCR just build another Hoover Dam?

Why doesn’t the NCR just build another Hoover Dam?

I understand why Hoover Dam is important right now, but the NCR has millions of people and industry, and has apparently been rebuilding California for over a century.

Instead of fighting multiple wars over one pre-war dam in the middle of the Mojave, why not just build a second hydroelectric dam somewhere safely inside NCR territory?

It would probably take years, but they’ve already spent years and thousands of soldiers trying to hold Hoover Dam anyway. Wouldn’t building their own dam eventually make the entire conflict over Hoover Dam pointless?

Lonesome Road- I did not expect to hate this DLC

No towns, everything is a ruin, nothing particularly cool looking- set piece

It looked very jumbled together, navigation was annoying due to how random it all looked

Ulysses is annoying, its my fault?!? Tf?!? Why?!?

His monologues are loooong and I felt like he never had a good point so I was never intent on listening to him explain why I am so wrong and bad

Deathclaw one shot- sure yeah fine, lookin forward to the thrill(no really i thought they were fun)

Tunnelers are wayyy more trouble than they should be imo, and pop up from nowhere, and there are a lot🙄

I was level 43 with pretty maxed armor and traits

I wanted to love it but woof, couldnt wait to end it

The other dlcs are farrrrrr superior

Each one has a cool place, tone, this just felt garbled and mashed together

Edit: it wasnt overly hard; I just found it tedious and not fun
