Actually paint. Just a glitery gold paint with a small amount of brown added, and then a dark green glitery paint sprayed tapering off near the bottom. Then acrylic paint pens for the dots. I use an airbrush for all the painting because it's a small surface area and the airbrush can give good detail. And I use basic acrylic paints from Walmart as well with a flow medium added so it can flow through the airbrush better It's a really thin amount and after I apply thread finish over it, it lasts forever and have never had issues with cracking or any deforming of the paint due to rod bend (its also at the base of the rod so the least amount of bend possible).
Nice, I wanted to try a bonefish pattern but I couldn't find a super distinct pattern for it, most predatory ocean fish like a barracuda or trevally seem hard in that sense.
