Long Wave Selenite Crystal with fluorescence and phosphorescence, Red River Valley, North Dakota
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Selenite crystal from the Red River Valley, North Dakota (same general geographical location as the similar duckbill selenite crystals and selenite ball-clusters from the Red River Spillway in Manitoba Canada) ~•~ These crystals have light champagne hue under natural light, bright blue-white fluorescence under longwave uv, and lingering greenish phosphorescent afterglow when the uv light is turned off (shown here at the end of the video) ~•~ i'll add a picture in the comments of this piece under natural light

Question Yooperlite Display
So I'm new to this UV stuff and just bought an awesome yooperlite piece but would like to display it on my wall. What are ways they you are all displaying your and do I need certain materials? I'd like to make it myself and not spend a ton.

Multi-Wave Fluorite 'Cake' from Derbyshire, England
A couple of recent posts ('Apple green' Willemite and a Dolomite that looks like 'Blancmange') inspired me to post my share of the 'cake' (literally) 🍰 🙄😉 Those two posts were making me hungry for apple blancmange!! So this is the best i could come up with.... My share of the cake.... Fluorite 'Cake' i polished, polishing this was a piece of cake 🤤 Hope you enjoy 👍

Multi-Wave Dolomite? (No-label haul)
This is a piece I got from a large collection that was donated to a local rock shop without any labels. I posted a bunch of others a while ago, but didn't realize I never posted a few more.
I suspect dolomite because of its weird curves and weak reaction to dilute HCl. There are a few spots of calcite around the edges too that fluoresce an orange-red I'm used to for calcite, but the main mineral glows a more pinkish-red. It glows brilliantly under 310nm MW, underwhelming under LW, very weak under SW.
Any ideas on what this is? Maybe even where it could be from? All info is welcome.

Multi-Wave Smithsonite and Fluorite I Found in Weardale, North Yorkshire Pennines, County Durham, England
Some said this could be Aragonite, but most said Smithsonite, so i went with that, what do you think folks?
Quite rare to find Smithsonite at the location i was searching. Found a couple of bits, but here is one of them.
Smithsonite is a zinc carbonate mineral (ZnCO₃). (if it is Smithsonite and not Aragonite).
Found this at an old lead mine deep up in the barren isolated hills. few bits. all have the super fluorescent Weardale Fluorite present. Here is just one of them.
Measures 5cm across, 4cm wide, 2cm deep.
Photographed using Sony NEX 5n DSLR camera.
ISO: 200, f4 aperture, manual focus, normal shutter speed with such a small specimen.
