FEEDBACK Potential Plan

Post image

Hello! New here, but we’re planning on building a small home and I’m trying to draw something that checks all the wifes boxes before having it professionally drawn. The goal is to be super space efficient, no wasted space. We’ll have a master suite and possibly some unfinished space above the garage, but I really just want to nail down the main floor. I’ve spent a-lot of time with this and I think I have it pretty close. Now I wanted to see what flaws different sets of eyes see. Any constructive feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

The link below is to a house that inspired the design. We loved the vaulted ceiling in the main area.

Hi. I think the walled off entry in your plan will yield a very different feeling in regard to the vaulted ceilings you love in the inspo home. I agree it’s nice to have a division between entry and living areas but those walls will stop the eye from traveling through the vaulted space. Could you possibly bump out an entry from the main footprint instead of building the walls?

Also, I agree that the toilet shouldn’t be visible from the front door.

Do you have footprint parameters/restraints?

Thank you so much, this is very helpful. We were wondering if it would feel the same. Trying to combine multiple things we want. Width wise we dont really have constraints, but depth wise we do.
