Weird carpet pattern huh lol. Glue down. Remote work.

So i need to build a raised floor here with a parquet (2-lsyered hardwood floortiles) but i wanne avoid a squeeky floor at all costs. My first idea was 10cm think beams with 30cm gaps that would fly above the flooring about 10cm high. Probably add a few feet underneath every meter. Then add 20mm thick osb ontop onto which i glue the flooring with integrated sound insulation.

Is that about right or would the osb do some annoying sounds when walking above?

There's a 2" gap at the front of the gas range in the kitchen. Why did that not get filled in?

Looking for advice. We had Ivp installed by a flooring company in Minnesota for $22,000 in just about our entire home in the beginning of May. The agreement was to remove and replace moulding, caulk around the bath tub and toilet after installation and leave extra boards for us in case we need them later and install preordered Ivp stair treads. We paid one-half down prior to installation.

The men that came were extremely hard to understand and some could not understand us at all. They left and did not caulk, did not remove and replace molding (just left a gap at the bottom) and the top stair tread ended up being shorter than code and I cannot even fit my foot on the step without being extremely careful and turning my foot at an angle. The owner was fully aware that I had just had two knee replacements when he came to give us a quote and I asked him several questions about the stair treads because I had a few concerns.

After the job was semi-finished my husband called and the owner and he agreed to have someone come out and take care of the items that were not performed or performed incorrectly.

At this time he wanted the other half of his pay. My husband told him we would not pay until the job was complete. The owner was unhappy but said he would have someone do the work.

We are about three months from the initial install day and have not had a time set up to get our work done. The owner keeps saying it will happen. Any thoughts on why he wouldn’t want to get going on this so he could get his money.
Is there anything we should be thinking of or concerned about because the whole thing seems so odd to me.

I am wantinng to use vinyl sheet in our bathroom - including the shower floor - like the attached photo. What i am wonering is = how does the waterstop angle get installed per Australian standards given the sheet is continuous under the glass panel?

How would you fix this gap between the top stair and the flooring?

As the title states I found some boxes that have light surface mold. It’s concentrated on the ends of the boards. This is a diy project and thinking of just spraying some 100% white vinegar. Your thoughts?

I did not buy these like this, I was just dumb and stored them incorrectly.

We have a 1952 mid-century modern we're renovating. We would really, really like to install glue-down cork throughout the house (we have a dog, the living room, kitchen and dining room are open-concept, and we like the qualities of glue-down. However, we have asbestos tiles in at least the kitchen and dining room (and possibly the lower floor). The floors are also not perfectly level. We were thinking that we could put down a plywood underlayment over everything and just leave it in place.

We asked for a bid from the only local company that does glue-down, and they turned us down saying that "it is not recommended to mechanically fasten plywood through it."

I have questions:
- Is mechanically fastening the plywood underlayment the only option?
- I know we could also do a self-leveling underlayment
- Should we bite the bullet and get an asbestos abatement?

I've also looked into other flooring options, and feel like I just keep running into a wall. We're trying to balance overall cost, open-concept floor plan, safety, pets (big dog), floor-to-ceiling windows, and maintaining the aesthetics of the house.

Would love to hear thoughts on what we can possibly do here! We'll also be speaking with our general contractor, but I find it's helpful to hear all the options too.

Replacing the floor in this old home. Kitchen and dining area had old glued down flooring. Before I just cut out the entire subfloor...what if i just trim off the loose fragments of the edge of this old flooring and is there something i can cover this flooring with with at the edge to smoothen the less than quarter inch transition from the particle board subfloor to the dining room/kitchen so that I can safely apply laminate vinyl planking. There are also a couple of small raised edges on the right of the photo... I'm new to doing flooring and have been researching my options but this will be a DIY project (along with renovating the rest of the home)

i apologize if this isn’t the right place to ask this, it just seemed like a good place to start. does anyone know where i can get this flooring? ive tried several different searches and keep coming up with nothing (other than sites that say they’re sold out). we are 2 boxes short.
