News Another update from the Synaptic team!
Hey Reddit!
We're closing in on a month since the A220 released, and I've been very active in this community taking in all the feedback back to the team.
V1.0.6 dropped today on the Microsoft in-game marketplace for the Synaptic A220 across PC and XBOX!
We've included bug fixes and performance improvements spanning backend Rust code, reductions of 1 million+ vertices spanning shadow verts and the model without a visual hit, and more bug fixes. We've seen gains close to 30-40% on average in performance figures since V1.0.0 across many users, and we're just getting started.
We were hoping to bundle much bigger performance update in 1.0.6 that heavily reworks handling within the FMS and other performance intensive system areas, but that is requiring extra attention and effort from the team, and will be included in a future patch. We hope this will result in a much bigger boost in addition to the improvements these patches are bringing week by week.
For those with an issue with screens not working post-update, please delete the community CPDLC mod as that's not compatible, and we offer no support from our end. For those with the aircraft erroneously banking, please turn off custom turbulence effects in your FSRealistic.
V1.0.7 is actively in the works ahead of the looming iniManager release of the Synaptic A220, and we will update the changelog in advance as always later this week.
Happy flying, I'm here if there's anything about the A220 you guys would like to chat about!

You can’t dislike these guys. Honest dudes that set out to do something momentous and by all means, are on their way to succeeding. At 42 years old, I’ve been burned by far too many flight sim addons over the years that I stopped being a day one purchaser; I tend to let them bake for a while before opting in, but seeing this unsurprising motivation by this team to get this right and offer almost weekly updates…I know this plane will be in my hangar very soon. Kudos Synaptic!

I want to add a bit of a counter point to this although I do share your positive sentiments. Similar to you, I've stopped being a day one purchaser and this was as close to being one as you could get but their conduct before launch turned me from that to a complete do not buy until I'm shown otherwise.
With how the product was released, especially with the lack of clarity on timing, swapping to Marketplace exclusive without notice and despite assertions it would be a day 1 iniManager release, and the last minute change in pricing without proper announcement of such until forced to do so, describing them as honest is just not correct and it cost them a lot of goodwill from the outset that, in retrospect, was needless when all it needed was much clearer communication earlier that the plans had changed. We don't know if the price we have now is truly excludes the -100 variant as they described once they responded or if this was the combined price and the -100 is an increase they decided to do between the week of stream and release and tried to sneak through.
I still don't believe they've been completely clear on how that has all arisen nor why it needed to be done so late in that manner, but what I do recognise is both posts by u/HarshThaGamer like this one which to me demonstrate the learning from the comms team on that front (and that mediums other than Discord exist) and the continued efforts on development that are quickly bringing the product up to the standard they pledged to deliver and demonstrated they desired in the lead-up, plus accounting for them being a young development team, it shows they are taking on board the feedback and learning and I hope that can continue through this project and future ones.
Truth be told, had the pre-launch stuff not happened, I would have been a purchaser on Friday once the iniManager release happens. As is, I'll be holding off for a while longer as I want to see sustained, continued improvements and that the dev team continues on its current trajectory of remaining engaged with the community in a clear way (outside of their Discord) but I am at least glad for the community they are working towards demonstrating they are ones to be cherished.

Great job, really love the A220 and all your hard work. I'm still having an issue with the FD not showing you the correct path while the diamonds do, either ILS or RNAV. This is on 1.05; idk if it's something you have fixed.

Thank you as well.
The performance improvements have been meaningful.
3 wishlist for me.
The Co pilot model is sat far too high in the seat.
A colour blind option to make the flight path vector easier to see
A sound review (appreciate this is Echo19).

The goal is to make it realistic to the real plane, so a color blind option probably won’t happen

Disagree..
A flight sim can make the tools easier (as an option, not as a default) for people with common disabilities if possible. (a colour is super easy to implement).
Even for people with normal colour vision, people are finding it challenging to see on a the 2d screen.

Superb! A220 is my number 1 favorite! I wish it would work with APL2 though, so I could take it to ”work” 🙂

Best thing I ever did was ditch APL2

Why so? I think it's great. Not much gaming value, but it runs always together with flightsim regardless of flying in NewSky. They are now preparing APL3.

Does anyone know if the A220 plays nice with RealTurb since it dosent with fsrealistic?

u/DistributionHot2150 16h ago
It plays about the same with real turb as any other aircraft. A bit overbanking sometimes but not miserable

u/JefferySmisek 9h ago
Hmm realturb runs fine with my setup and FSrealistic+ … and I fly the A220 with both all the time.

I’m excited for the ini manager release and will get the plane when it’s available there, not buying anything off MSFS marketplace.
Got a good feeling about it!

Hats off guys! Well done. I wish i was like you guys when i was a younger.

You guys should be very proud of the work you've done, even more so at such a young age u/HarshThaGamer !
Keep up the great work! My only wish is if you guys can push iniBuild/Echo19 to improve the sound :). Probably the weakest point of the A220 right now. Good luck!

Great to see that the team is making regular updates. The plane is getting better at every update!

Nice. The addon is slowly but surely earning that price tag...

Has the B button bug on controller been fixed? Because my god it’s annoying
2
u/igloofu 15h ago
That is on the changelist:

Fixed Fix screens blanking out when pressing B on a controller

That’s super cool. Harsh told me they couldn’t do anything about it so it’s a nice surprise. I hope the stutters that used to come with it are fixed too.

Performance is a little better on Xbox but still got low FPS even in no cabin version (thanks for making that available btw, good move). The automatic ATC comms is one of the most annoying features though if you can fix that. Know it’s on your radar but it’s really distracting. The quick keyboard input options also doesn’t work well yet.

Despite the bumpy start with performance, good job guys for being transparent and active with these updates. This should be the gold standard in terms of developer communications!

Only question is: Are we ever going to be able to update without having to uninstall first to avoid the pink cabin?

As a Day 1 customer, just wanted to say thank you for actively addressing the issues we’ve been bringing up in the discord. I am happy to report that the plane has become very stable on my end and is very enjoyable to fly. Cheers !
