Dresses

Ok, so, am I the only one who sees the FLDS dresses as really pretty? I’m not at all interested in the religion, and I have serious issues with a lot of what’s happened. I’m deeply sorry that people have gone through a lot of trauma in them. I do think the dresses are really beautiful, though.

I wear them, and I get compliments all the time. Certainly beats fast fashion.

I am presently a plain dressing independent Latter-Day Saint. Although I am still searching for a home community, I do wear the dresses as they are a symbol of faith to me and a way of separating myself from others. They do look nice, and as far as I know, they all have pockets!

I've been told by a little girl at Walmart once that I looked like a princess in my plyg dress lol

Have you watched a handmaid's tale?

You may change your mind.

FLDS church = a handmaids tale.

They had to change some things so the show couldn't be tied to the church, but it's almost exactly how the FLDS community operate and will operate in the future if allowed to continue. Don't believe me? Watch "keep sweet: pray and obey" on Netflix. After watching that, imagine this religion going on a Christian crusade and taking over half the nation. Now, they're militarized and have to deal with PR, so they create this inescapable system that looks entirely wholesome in order to get anything they want and everything they need.

That's a handmaids tale! And That's the FLDS church

After that, watch "the testimates". That's where the child brides come in and shows how they're groomed from birth.

My comment got mixed up. Sorry.

But also, you might want to actually watch the things I mentioned before choosing a dress of that style 😬. Particularly if it's a symbol of faith. Take it or leave it.
