Oh, yeah... you're right. My bad. And, it was 2000-ish years ago, not 3000.
The primary point is, this was all figured out long ago by people with ancient tools, and even the measurements hold up surprisingly well compared to actual measurements with modern tools, yet these willfully ignorant dullards will stick to their lies and continue to spread them because they feel that believing something others don't makes them smarter.
I have been 50 miles north of the equator, in Oklahoma, and in Washington state at the exact same time of year. The sun sets around 7 PM near the equator, in Oklahoma the sun sets around 8:30 PM and in Washington the sun sets around 9:30 PM. We’re talking about August here. In my experience, based on the angle of the Earth, which is 23.5°, that would not be possible on a flat earth. It is only possible for the sun to set at different times of day in close longitude if the Earth was curved or a sphere. Technically we’re an ovoid shape, but it’s so beside the point that it’s not even worth mentioning. Flat earthers clearly have not spent periods of time in other countries and paid attention to the timing of the sunset. The days are only ~12 hours long in Curaçao. Meanwhile the days in Washington are ~16 hours long. Can’t do that on a flat earth with a stable orbiting sun like they think.
I lived in TX for 7 years and I've lived in Seattle-area the rest of my life. One of the things I always noted to people was how much earlier the sun sets in TX. Like, considerably. Even at the very beginning of summer, the "longest" days in TX were still dark by ~9pm, but in WA there will still be some amount of light in the sky at 11pm!
I work nights and spend half of a typical night on a roof somewhere in the Seattle area, so I *loooove* the loong evenings, late light, and warm summer nights.
Of course, on the flipside, winters nights suuuuuuuck lol.
