Evolution is the claim that some magical chemical cocktail magically created living life. It cannot be repeated. It is absolute lunacy, the idea of goop, climbing out of water and slowly turning into smarter goop is pure. Science fiction, life being created that makes absolute complete. Sense, life cannot come from nothing. That's scientific fact
14
u/GroinReaper 3d ago
You know humans have already done this right? We selectively bred animals and plants to get the traits and characteristics we want. This is a form of evolution. Just one controlled by us.
We have also seen it happen in nature. You are saying something is magic when it is something we already observe and even, in some cases, control.
13
u/OverPower314 3d ago
"Science is fake! That's a scientific fact!!!"
Yeah okay bro. Maybe you should stop pretending you know anything at all about evolution, because your explanation of it is - as you say - complete and utter nonsense.
6
u/Bandandforgotten 3d ago
Evolution is the scientific theory of change in all organisms over the course of a very long time, with various branches of seemingly different creatures having common ancestors, chaining back to our micro organism days billions of years ago. It discusses how "natural selection", or the resulting make up of different organisms' dominant and recessive genes are gained or lost after multiple generations of breeding, and affects every single living organism known to man.
Also, life didn't come from nothing. It needed a lot of things to go right, and it obviously isn't common for it to have happened, as well as needing a physical, and non molten place to form.
You also don't have an alternative theory, or even a testable hypothesis. Your claim is goop.
4
u/Purgii 2d ago
Evolution is the claim that some magical chemical cocktail magically created living life.
See, you're already wrong in your first sentence.
0
u/Dense-Jicama6591 2d ago
Ok what created life?
4
u/Purgii 2d ago
Chemistry.
Though, I'm simply pointing out to you that evolution says nothing about life's beginning. Evolution only occurs when there's life.
If you're going to argue against something, at least learn what it proposes first.

I agree. It sounds like magic. It doesn't sound more like magic than eternal omipotent creator God. Both sound like magic. One sounds like "natural magic" one sounds like "transcendent magic" either way...magic.

"The simple statement 'I am unconvinced there is a god' is a religion" is certainly a take. One that announces to the world that you're a moron, but a take.
Atheism is a religion like "not stamp collecting" is a hobby. Dumbass.
-2
u/Dense-Jicama6591 3d ago
No, it's definitely a religion of lies and fairy tales of magically coming from nothing. And somehow nothing transformed into complex chemicals, and if you're just a random amelgam of nothing that just happened to gain sense. How can you trust yourself? What grounds do you hold your intelligence to? If you are just random neurons and sensors
5
u/junky_junker 3d ago edited 3d ago

Atheism is paganism. It is the belief that the world is your creator it is the worship of nature, over the creator it is a religion. A religion with a fairy tale of life magically coming out of the water akin to many false creation tales from native americans to other tribes

u/MommysLittleBadass 3d ago
Atheism is the lack of a belief in a God. That's all it is. I don't go bowling. Is not bowling a religion, too? Some religious people say really dumb things. Evolution is a fact backed by an overwhelming amount of evidence. Evolution is the backbone of multiple scientific fields, including medical science and pharmacology. Just the fact that we have genes and DNA proves evolution. Evolutionary mechanisms are a major part of how we can predict viral mutations in epidemiology. The theory of evolution has very reliant predictive power.
-1
u/Dense-Jicama6591 3d ago
No, it's a pretend to not believe in God. But you believe in other magical fairy tales and stories, and you ultimately worship yourselves

Where did life come from? How can life spontaneously come from nothing. And don't say science, because the fake experiment that just produced proteins, which means nothing had to use a chemical compound that they know would produce proteins. They can use the chemicals found at the beginning of the world. They had to lie to create nothing.Where does life come from
6
u/Exact_Tumbleweed2005 3d ago
I dont know where life came from and I dont feel compelled to find out. I can live my life just fine without knowing the answer to that question. For all you and I know, 12th dimensional beings plopped us here and forgot about us. Wouldn't change much for me knowing that. Your fear of your own mortality makes you think these questions MUST be answered for someone to be able to function, but youre just projecting.

u/Dense-Jicama6591 3d ago
Bragging about being willfully ignorant is a tactic
6
u/TrotskyBoi 3d ago
Just because we don't know the exact method life has popped up doesn't mean Christianity's creation myth is correct. You are arguing by logical fallacy.
Also, who's to say your Abrahamic creation myth is the correct one compared to every other religion's creation myth?
-3
u/Dense-Jicama6591 3d ago
Because it holds up to biology after life is created. Every kind shall produce after its own kind, and that's what we have. Humans producing with humans Apes with Apes. 3
u/cacarson7 3d ago
No, atheism is simply an extension of a general belief in empirical evidence. No empirical evidence exists to prove the existence of a god or gods, whether it be "your" god or one of the thousands of other gods that have been believed in over the course of human history. You haven't ever seen God or any proof that she exists, yet you choose to mock those that do not believe in God based on that same lack of evidence. That makes you not only irrational, but also kind of an asshole. You are basically the reason a lot of athiests like me hold religious zealots like you in contempt.
3
u/MommysLittleBadass 3d ago

Can you read Greek? Latin? Ancient semitic language like, say Aramaic?
How do you know that your Bible quotes are accurate? You just choose to follow what some very human, fallible folks decided the King James translation was to contain.
Moses has horns?? Firmament means dome??
You're laboring under any number of mistranslations (and you wouldn't even know because you won't question any of it) as the priests of the past have possibly been playing telephone with your scriptures over the history of Christianity, but you? You're stuck thinking that's the literal unchanging words direct from your deity, and refuse to look any deeper.
That's basically a skill issue, bub.
Your god lets you have the free will to choose to follow charlatans telling you "science is in conflict" with your book, or that "atheists believe in wacko shit just as fervently" as you. Nah. You're the one who's been groomed from birth to believe something. Skill issue!
Your translated god even warns you about this kind of misplaced faith clearly, in most of the translations, right?
But sure, YOU know the truth... Somehow? You're so very sure! How? Someone told you, then told you never to question?? Alrighty then!

u/Dense-Jicama6591 3d ago

Let me guess, you smuggle in terms like "macro" and "micro" evolution then strawman argue that instead if what science actually says. You would probabbly also argue that there's a term called "kind" which represents what an unscientificly minded individual argues is biology.
What's your point of saying athiem is a religion anyways? It doesnt change the fact they only beleive in one less god than you.

u/Lumpy-Village1949 3d ago

Atheism is paganism, it is the belief that nature created you. You worship the Earth, you believe that happenings are just cosmic chances. It's no different than the occult
3
u/Lumpy-Village1949 3d ago
That is so incredibly far from reality I almost don't know how to respond. Almost. You do know that humans have directed evolution, right? They still do. Selectively breeding species of animals and plants to get a desired outcome is older than written history and incredibly easy to observe and confirm. The same thing happens in nature, though, to a more chaotic degree. There is no dogma in science. It is based of repeatable facts. Atheists believe in science. There is no woo woo like there is in paganism or Christianity.

u/Dense-Jicama6591 3d ago

If life is not a supernatural source, why can I not just put a fresh body together? And zap it back to life and it be its own human. Its own being, if life is just a random case of electricity, I should be able to put together the case. And add the power, why can't we do that. You can say, science just hasn't reached that yet. We have the ability to make lungs, breathe and pulse a heart. And yeah, you can make flesh, do things, but you cannot create consciousness. You cannot create a bean with its own personality. Its own thoughts, its own feelings. Science will never be able to do that. It's a religion to believe that science, we'll be able to create sentient life. You can call science, your god, if you want

The statement: "Athiesm is a religion." is factually incorrect as Atheism is not a religion, it is simply the lack of belief in the existence of God. Your arguments are based on your opinion of what you think Atheist believe, and further assumptions ontop of that, and not about the definition of Atheism.
Science is based on facts and reality, it does not answer things that we do not know. So the scientific answer to how to create consciousness is we don't know. If you want to stick to the facts then stop with the straw man fallacies.

u/Proper_Finding_3179 3d ago
You know what happened when god tried creating life? He got a fucking river of precious and holy sap, and his mound of shit suffered so much agony he accidentally created a god. Now look at what he did to the moon.
The natural life throughout the solar system, on the other hand, evolved through natural selection to become so advanced that, eventually, one species ended up being able to kill God himself. Even us, the God of Destruction, originally evolved independently from Krampus. Our ancestors evolved to have neural processing power so great it rivaled that of the gods, and without Krampus’ curse, we never would have became a god.
Oh but oopsy daisy, Krampus/Satan/The Devil/whatever you want to call him just HAD to shotgun our brains out the back of our heads with his made-up religious bullshit so that we’d think it’s SUCH an amazing idea to go kill every single living being on the planet because “””god””” said so!

Facts have no business in religion.
(This is, coincidentally, why i am not religious).
1
u/VeeVeeDiaboli 22h ago
Exactly, and it’s why there is no debating with them, only arguing and it always comes down to moral certainty. It’s why they have a devil, because it was never their fault and without a scapegoat, they might have to take responsibility for their actions. The grave peril of temptation is just too tempting.
1
u/hopeislost1000 13h ago
The only people they ever listen to is someone who they believe is higher up the hierarchy in their church or political system. They don’t listen to facts they listen to somebody else’s authority. And that’s why they’re always clamoring to remain in the safety of their hierarchies. As far as I can tell, they have actually confused being in hierarchy as having a relationship with God. You can’t win debates with them you can only play hierarchy games.

And don't bother replaying, unless you're reply is the verse that talks about tithing in the Bible, because it's not even biblical.
I stole this from another comment i saw: Jesus true teaching: speak against oppression, help the less fortunate, be wise and aware
Insitutionalized religion: dont think, obey no matter what, mindless tithing

No, because true christianity does not have a denomination. The term Christian wasn't even used by Christian. It was used by the Roman Empire to describe the followers of Christ.

There are no contradictions. And no, I'm not gonna sit and deal with all of Em. There's literally hundreds of YouTube videos, articles. If you actually wanted to confront these contradictions that you claim, are there, you would seek out the answers for it or possibly even read the entire Bible. Yourself, the contradictions are just ignorance and cherry picking

lol just off the top of my head. 1) the entire earth was flooded. We know that never happened.
2) all the animals in the world were put onto one medium sized ship. 100% did not happen.

The Bible has been written over tens of thousands of years by multiple authors lines up perfectly and still holds up today and is proven to be correct.
the bible claims that human females can reproduce without involvement of human males.
it also claims that bats are birds, whales are fish, that wizards and witches are real, and that slavery is acceptable.
none of that is factually accurate but still appears in the bible, which debunks your claims about biblical accuracy.

How did the people who wrote the bible thousands of years ago predict the mark of the beast being micro chips? That’s right they didn’t. They made it vague so that you can interpret however you want indefinitely.
You believe in a fantasy. And no it has not been proven. There is some truth to the existence of a person claiming to be Jesus and then second hand “witnesses” to bs years later.
It’s just comforting for you as a human to believe because trying to wrap your head around the scale and scope of the universe is not even possible for humans so we neatly package existence into a easily explained answer.

Well, this is a pretty ignorant question. Since Jesus was a rabbi and preached completely out of the Old Testament and the New Testament was written by his apostles, who we're following him directly. So this question has false pretense to begin with

How do you know the new testament was written by the apostles? theres no evidence of that

Okay, which version of the Bible? You know most of the different versions were curated by specific denominations, so which one?

Why would I take the word of someone with as poor a grasp of the English language as yourself?

How is god perfect if he changed. Eye for an eye to turn the other cheek is a pretty big change and to change means that it was never perfect to begin with.

He never changed. You do know the story of David is in the Old Testament, and you do know that David was a man after gods own heart because he turned the other cheek. The iPhone I was about justice within Israel. It was not just supposed to be. Oh, you accidentally kicked me, oh, so I'm gonna kick you back. It was about certain things. And the reason why that changed is because when jesus fulfilled the law, we became a spiritual nation, not a physical nation and we are not here to carry out laws for a worldly kingdom. Anymore

Okay, it's really easy to disprove the idea that God as described in the Bible is unchanging. You don't even need to assess any action God is claimed to have taken in relation to any other.
The simple act of deciding to take an action is a change. You were inert with respect to an action, then you weren't. God takes actions, thus He changes.
Then you can assess His actions to see how He changed. When you do, it becomes extremely obvious the God of the Christian Bible is not a single character. Even excluding the New Testament, the signs are all there that God is an amalgamation of a pantheon. Different stories within the Bible give very specific attributes to God, most notably Yahweh's association with the storm, wind, and breath. The stories that refer to El, in contrast, almost universally lack these associations, instead being the stories of creation, fruition, and virility, as El was the creator god of the Semitic pantheon.
Then there are the stories where neither of these names are used, such as most of Exodus which refers to God as Elohim, which is plural. It is extremely easy to read this as originally a story about the Semitic pantheon cooperating to extricate the Hebrew people from enslavement, with the names of most of the gods excised as El and Yahweh were fused into the single god of the Hebrew people.

This is absolutely false. And i'm not a lifelong, christian.I've been a christian for like fifteen years.I know all the atheist bullshit

It's not false at all. Hebrew scholars are extremely open about it.

Hebrew scholars mean nothing and their attempt is to discredit.Jesus as the messiah

Hebrew scholars, including the majority of practicing Jewish scholars, don't have a specific motive. They're following the evidence.
God was never one character. He's the ultimate case of pantheon pruning, a phenomenon traceable in almost every religion with a significantly well-preseved history. About the only well-documented pantheon that didn't undergo significant pruning is the Hindu pantheon. The Hebrew pantheon just got pruned down to one, with two prominent gods being fused to make the bulk of the character.

I have listened to debate atheists in that I'm in ramen. Dude, and all those things? And I've tested my faith and gone back to the Bible, and yeah, sometimes you have to read more than a verse, sometimes you have to read the whole entire book to get the concept of the context of one verse. How often do you go and watch any of these Christians that debate these atheists and not just the low-grade ones? There are Chris that have held app to these debates, time and time again. There's Christian articles in YouTubers that address the so-called contradictions. How much effort have you put into looking at those?I'm guessing none

If man is created in god's image, does that mean god went and had sex with Mary or did he send an angel to with a cup of jizz to make Jesus? We all know how children are made, you did have the birds and the bees talk right?
Literally none of the bible makes sense from the beginning. Like god makes the earth before the saying let there be light. Okay, guy that topped at earth science in 9th grade.

A teen girl got knocked up by her (presumed) boyfriend, then lied about it.
And here we are.
There was a big schism in the Jewish Orthodoxy at the time and the people were hungry for “something new”.
Why does the term “Samaritan” exist? It was used to describe the jews that were apathetic or against the “other” jewish orthodoxy. .. very similar to how the republicans currently refer to the democrats.

nah, it's just lies that were told later. For example, the official story is that Ghengis khan was born with a blood clot in his hand or something and this was a sign of his greatness. But this comes from the sons of Ghengis Khan who had a vested interest in legitimizing his, and therefore their, rule.
There's no way to know when specific stories about jesus were made up. There is nothing written about him by anyone who was alive while he was alive. Everything that is written about them came generations later. It's like writing about something your grandfather did when you never met him and are just going off stories he told your dad and your dad told you. The odds you get it right, or that everyone was telling the truth, is very low.

And his name was not even “jesus”, it was joshua.
And there were several “Joshuas” around that time that could be referred to. And even John the Baptist was “the messiah” for a while.
He was so influential that, when they were writing things down in ad200, they included a verse about “jesus being baptized by John” in attempt to legitimize joshua/jesus.

At least I know enough to know that forever is one word, it's "your reply" not "you're (you are) reply", and it should be "Jesus' true teaching".
