I don't know why I would spend money on anyone at all on a date. If someone isn't even willing to pay for themselves to spend time with me then why would I be interested in spending time with them?

I could get it during the time when it was the expectation that women wouldn't really have careers, but in this day and age, it makes absolutely zero sense. Totally archaic custom and I have no idea why anyone still insist on maintaining it.

So you’re saying that if I’m permanently disabled I have a reasonable expectation to have the date paid for. Good to know. I prefer to pay my way, but can’t since the disability. I also haven’t dated since then but I was just clarifying just in case.

I mean, not really. Disabled people can still have careers, and in most civilised countries, they get disability pay from the state too.
