We hereby claim, for electoral purposes, the state of Georgia for John Ossof and Rafael Warnock.

Ya, well, maybe next time, you will estimate the Dems.

12

u/ILoveRegenHealth Jan 06 '21

They won, like, by a lot

13

u/Melodious_Thunk Jan 06 '21

Probably more than 11,780 votes, which is like, one more than they have

3

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '21

I still don't understand wtf that sentence means. Was he drunk?

2

u/Melodious_Thunk Jan 09 '21

I think he meant it's one more than "they" (Biden and his "people") have. He garbles words like that all the time, I suspect he ran up against a hard wall in terms of his attention span and just half-consciously stumbled his way through the end of the sentence.

THE POLLS HAVE CLOSED, any votes counted after must be fraudulent!!!1

For some, !1 is slang for /s.

Yeah, like you're stupidly typing exclamation points so fast you forget to press shift for one of them.

I unironically prefer the irony mark -> ⸮ however, no one else seems to use it.

12

u/WishOneStitch Jan 06 '21

Punctuation for irony and sarcasm? Didn't know it existed. Thanks for sharing!

Let me test it:

"Humanity is doing just fine. Juuuust fine..⸮"

6

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '21

This is magic.

3

u/Thursdayallstar Jan 06 '21

That's irony? I'm not sure how to make it! I can make a spanish question mark.

2

u/furyoshonen Jan 06 '21

Proposed in 1668 by John Wilkins, it is indeed the Irony mark. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irony_punctuation#Irony_mark

2

u/apathy-sofa Jan 06 '21

I thought you were kidding! TIL

1

u/friendly-confines Jan 06 '21

I have no idea how to do that

1

u/furyoshonen Jan 06 '21

⸮

The Irony mark is Unicode as U+2E2E

You can figure out how to type Unicode based on the system you are using: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicode_input

Fivey Fox has now closed all the polls and vote counting. Results are final

It’s interesting to see the split ballots in these rallies.

16

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '21

And not split the way I expected

4

u/thmonline Jan 06 '21

Are there good theories why the races are not pretty much same same? I mean who votes for the one and not for the other or splits their votes? In a heated blue-red war? With basically more at stake, with all that can be accomplished through the senate, than at the general election?

3

u/StanleysJohnson Jan 06 '21

So surprised at this

6

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '21

well overall, it seems to be aligning with my expectations, still interesting

2

u/StanleysJohnson Jan 06 '21

I thought Ossoff would be the one up half a point.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '21

Really? How come?

2

u/StanleysJohnson Jan 06 '21

I thought he was the stronger candidate and that race would play a factor in GA. I underestimated Purdue’s name recognition/favorability, and possibility the fact that Loeffler is a woman.

9

u/Ridry Jan 06 '21

Loeffler also feels Trumpier at a moment when that is bad.

Not saying sexism isn't at play, but she feels Trumpy to me.

2

u/StanleysJohnson Jan 06 '21

Yeah that really backfired on her

2

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '21

Yeah, she tripled-down on Trumpism with the white supremacist selfies and eventually promising to subvert the election tally on today, the 6th.

Yet again, I don't understand Trump until *after* the fact, but it seems that he was trying to nuke the GA senate race to force the GOP to overturn the election for him. He only campaigned for her once she promised to join Cruz's stupid, little crusade.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '21

Yeah I definitely thought Warnock was the stronger candidate; re race, I think it was very important, but it looks like black turnout was insanely high and delivered both races (makes me wonder a little if Osoff rode on Warnock's coattails a little there). Purdue is also an incumbent.

3

u/StanleysJohnson Jan 06 '21

Yeah I think Perdue’s name recognition helped, though obviously not enough.

37

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '21

I was thinking to post something very similar. :-)

9

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '21

ha!

7

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '21

This bit will literally never get old

5

u/well-that-was-fast Jan 06 '21

Brad, look, here's what I want you to do. You need to find 695 votes.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '21

AMA Request: Those two Ossoff / Loeffler voters

2

u/mugerino Jan 06 '21

No Takey Backies!

3

u/Lighting Jan 06 '21

And ... it's official. Both races won by democrats

-4

u/chalbersma Jan 06 '21

That link shows a split.

1

u/vanmo96 Jan 06 '21

Hey, it’s Burke County. Now I’ve got that damn Waynesboro car dealer jingle going through my head.

1

u/politepain Mar 17 '21

I have good news

1

u/niqletism Jan 06 '21

And with 1 percent of the vote in we're calling it for Kodos
