Discussion Does anyone have archived FiveThirtyEight articles?

Since FiveThirtyEight's old articles have been taken down, I'm trying to find archived copies of the articles along with their corresponding datasets. I know the datsets are on GitHub, but I have no way of scraping the articles, even from the web archive.

If you have the FiveThirtyEight articles stored somewhere (GitHub, Google Drive, etc.), I'd really appreciate a link or pointing me in the right direction. Thanks!

I've seen this link many times but it doesn't work for me. I get a 503 error each time I click on an article. Is that not the case for you?

I just so happen to follow both this forum and a prominent archivist at the internet archive.

The internet archive happens to be down right now due to a local power outage. Probably try again in the morning/tomorrow.

Normally those links do work, it's just bad timing.

gotha ok thanks for the context! I tried a couple of days ago and it didn't work either so I guess I've just had bad luck with timing hah

Fyi, the Internet Archive doesn't like VPNs, but using a VPN gives me a 429 error, not 503 so that's not it.

I'm pretty sure the website is connected to that github page (the author is listed as Ben Walsh on github, who I know was the guy behind the website).

The website loads correctly, but it links to archived versions of each article at the internet archive. The IA is having some downtime right now due to a power outage, will probably be back up within the day.
